Every Child with Albinos deserves to see

Challenge Albinism is profoundly misunderstood in most of rural Rwanda communities. Children with albinism are frequently abandoned by their families because of erroneous beliefs and myths that they may be a source of misfortune. This negatively impacts their rights to basic education and health services. Four in five children with albinism do not attend schools while most of them suffer from low Vision can't access information on blackboard or reading from class standard distances, this make these an increase of school dropouts and often die of skin cancer due to the lack of appropriate equipment and suitable lotion for their skin. Solution Our project works directly with children with albinism in different rural villages of Rwanda. We promote their education by giving them low vision Aids and healthcare, skin protection materials, and cover their health insurance. Additionally, a highly trained team of HAO conducts albinism awareness campaigns intending to eliminate social exclusion and marginalization against people with albinism at community level. Long-Term Impact of Donation The project will reach 327 albinos children in rural villages of Rwanda. Education for these children will be promoted and a better healthcare will be provided to them. Furthermost, the project will eventually eliminate discrimination against Children with albinism from these rural communities
