We envision a world where ALK+ lung cancer is a chronic or even curable condition and the next person diagnosed with lung cancer does not have to live under the current stigma.

**Our Start**

\#SweatForBreath started as a grassroots fundraising campaign during Lung Cancer Awareness Month in 2023. After being diagnosed with Stage IV ALK+ lung cancer in November 2022, David Cornbrooks became keenly aware that he was benefiting from the selfless fundraising and awareness efforts of the patients before him.

The \#SweatForBreath campaign in 2023 became David, and his wife, Lisa’s, way to help the next generation ALK+ lung cancer patients.

\#SweatForBreath accelerated beyond more than just a typical fundraiser.  The initiative quickly evolved into a community of patients, caregivers, family, and friends seeking to make David and Lisa's vision a reality and the road to that vision more tolerable. People donated, sweat at the in-person cycle event, posted on social media, and helped fundraise through organizing group walks, selling art, "gifting" donations on behalf of clients, and much more.

Their success in 2023 compelled David and Lisa to officially transition the \#SweatForBreath campaign into the Sweat For Breath Foundation, operating through a fiscal sponsorship with Players Philanthropy Fund, a Maryland charitable trust recognized by IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal Tax ID: 27-6601178).

**Our Impact**

Since 2023, over **1,450 donors** have given nearly **$400,000** to the Foundation (or its predecessor campaign). 100% of the proceeds have gone directly to The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Center in Baltimore, MD to support Dr. Vincent Lam’s ALK+ lung cancer research.

This support provided the critical funding needed to launch Dr. Lam’s clinic trial, which will evaluate the safety of a cancer peptide vaccine to prevent or delay acquired resistance in advanced ALK+ lung cancer patients currently on ALK targeted therapy. Dr. Lam’s vaccine is the **first ALK+ vaccine in the world** to be tested in a clinical trial. Dr. Lam administered the vaccine to the first patient **in clinic on May 13, 2024**!

Every year, approximately 76,000 children in India may develop cancer, with 58% of them being severely malnourished at the time of diagnosis. For these children, nutrition can mean the difference between life and death. Every child deserves a chance at a cure, and we are here to make that happen.

At Cuddles Foundation, we partner with over 40 government and charity cancer hospitals to support children through our FoodHeals program. Our mission is to ensure that children undergoing cancer therapy receive comprehensive nutritional support. This includes access to trained clinical pediatric nutritionists, expert dietary counsel, supplements, hot meals, monthly ration baskets, and caregiver support. Good food helps the medicine work!

This multi-pronged approach tackles a simple but often ignored aspect of a child’s successful recovery from cancer. While undergoing treatment, it is essential that children have freshly prepared, nutritious food in sufficient quantity and don't stay hungry for long periods. The impact of our work is evident. When part of the FoodHeals Program, 82%* of patients improved or maintained their nutritional status, despite cancer therapy like chemotherapy or radiation.

Additionally, 96% of children followed up* on their treatment plan when nutrition was a part of it, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. Besides the love and affection of our patients, their families, and our supporters, we’ve won some prestigious awards along the way. This includes the National Award for Child Welfare (2015-16), the Akshaya Patra and UN Global Compact Award (2018) and most recently we received the Global CSR & ESG Awards 2024 - Top 10 Best NGOs of the Year (2024).

We are 24yr old charitable trust, in Chennai, working in the areas of cancer care, women empowerment and education. We channel the goodwill of communities and bring hope to people in need.

Since 2011 our Nellai Cancer Care Centre in Tirunelveli has been offering comprehensive cancer care services to underprivileged people. **We have so far raised awareness for over 200k+ people, screened more than 60k+ individuals, conducted over 2800 cancer camps, treated over 1500 patients, and currently provide home-based mobile palliative care services to over 300 patients**. All our initiatives align with the **WHO framework** for cancer care and **SDG Goal 3** for health and wellbeing.

We are now working towards establishing our very own cancer speciality hospital to bridge the growing access-affordability gap in cancer care in Tirunelveli.

Our **[Nellai Cancer Hospital](http://www.nellaicancerhospital.org/)** - a 70-bed facility - will be situated on [a 5.35-acre lush landscape in Sengulam](https://youtu.be/Ij3ErArnajw?si=Gkau13HtITZ3k9Bl) to serve 2 million across the region, spanning several districts.  Equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics and inpatient care, it is poised to deliver high-quality and holistic cancer care services to patients.

The entire project is being **guided by the Cancer Institute (WIA)** in Adyar, Chennai and several eminent advisors across industries.

So far we have

1. Acquired 5.35 acres of land for the hospital, generously donated to us.
2. Developed a comprehensive architectural plan for a 70-bed hospital, with the initial phase 1 covering approximately 29,000 sq. ft. 
3. Secured the necessary approvals to construct up to 40,000 sq. ft. at the site.

5. Began construction in May 2024

 Chemical biology is one of the fastest growing areas of cancer research today. This field of research has the potential to uncover the underlying causes of cancer progression and find out how to stop cancers from spreading to different parts of the body, also called metastasizing. Today, metastasis causes 90% of cancer deaths. Finding the key to block metastatic spread will have a tremendous impact on cancer survival and discovering pathways to a cure. KidzCan is the only organisation in Zimbabwe dedicated to increasing the survival rate of children suffering from cancer and blood-related disorders.
The organisation was formally registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO) in 2009. It was directly evolved in volunteer work for over 15 years prior to that. 
A group of concerned volunteers initiated weekly visits to the children's wards of Parirenyatwa Hospital to play with the children and distribute some donated toys, sweets, or basic luxuries to the admitted children. 
In 1998 Andrea Whatman took over the coordination of this small volunteer group, a position she held until April 2014. 
In 2002, Dr. Orphard Mupanemunda (the only paediatric oncologist in Zimbabwe by then) and Andrea received a fully funded fellowship to St Judes Children's Hospital in Memphis, USA. 
On their return, Dr. Mupanamunda and Andrea committed to forming an organisation called Children's Cancer Relief, which to this day is now known as KidzCan Zimbabwe.
KidzCan supports Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo(second largest city), Sekuru Kaguvi Eye Hospital, Sally Mugabe Hospital, and Parirenyatwa Hospital, which is the centre of excellence on childhood cancer.
From the days of only providing psycho-social services the basket of services is now full with others like the provision of chemotherapy drugs, bereavement assistance, CT and MRI scans and bereavement allowances. The institution also sources, and provides prosthetics, admission, discharge packs, and nutritional support in the form of food hampers as good nutrition is at the centre of treatment.
The organisation conducts awareness campaigns in schools, workspaces and the community, and individuals plus group counselling to children, parents, and caregivers. 
KidzCan has now introduced housing to the portfolio of services available, through the Rainbow Children’s Village (RCV), which basically is a halfway house for children and caregivers, who often come from remote areas, making it difficult for them to fulfil their appointments with doctors. 
KidzCan provides these services free of charge to childhood cancer patients who come through the public health system. 
The organisation serves up to 800 patients annually, of which new cases are around 350. 
With Leukaemia (blood cancer), Wilms Tumour (kidney cancer) and retinoblastoma (eye cancer) being the most prevalent, the cancers come in many different forms. 
All the services are provided free of charge.

We brighten hospital rooms for kids battling cancer with free, cozy bed sheets, bringing smiles to their faces.

Thousands of children are battling cancer in our hospitals every day. On a cruel and shocking night in early 2010 my young son became one of those kids, and he spent the next 18 months fighting a courageous and difficult battle beating cancer. He is an amazing son, brother and friend, and is our inspiration for Sheets from Home.

With each round of chemo, immunotherapy, or transplant, our son would spend many, many nights confined to his hospital bed. We brought lots of love, we brought courage and hope, and we even brought in toys; these were all important weapons in our fight. We also brought sheets from home, and this did unexpected and amazing things.

On the first night of his chemo at the hospital, we ripped off the white patient hospital sheets, and replaced them with sheets from home. He always had a fun and colorful bed with his friends SpongeBob, Spiderman or Darth Vader.

We thought this was just a small gesture but over the course of treatments, a nurse, another kid or a Mom would stand outside our hospital room and marvel at how the sheets brought life to the room. We were amazed at the positive impact and the smiles. And while it did not make the pain go away, his hospital bed which was his new home, could feel more like his real home. Each kid deserves this same feeling and we will make it happen with your help.

ConnectMyVariant's mission is to end hereditary disease by bringing families together.

ConnectMyVariant is an educational health-focused 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families with hereditary disease in their early detection and prevention efforts. We provide unique value by leveraging our evidenced-based family connection protocols to help people identify other at-risk relatives and help those relatives access genetic testing so that they can get optimal medical care. ConnectMyVariant brings people with the same genetic risk together through our variant database and community engagement events to share experiences and find common ancestors. ConnectMyVariant also works to increase awareness of the benefits of family outreach among physicians, others who provide prevention care, and the broader genealogy community.
 
Our key activities are:
   - Working with patients to implement personalized family outreach plans
   - Interactive educational workshops about sharing information on inherited disease risk
   - Variant specific family reunions to share stories and plan outreach to cousins
   - Genealogy assistance to help connect individuals in variant groups

Need and Impact:
When hereditary disease risk is known, family outreach has been proven to be the most effective and cost-effective intervention for early detection and prevention. This family outreach, also known as cascade testing, is recommended by multiple guidelines. Despite overwhelming evidence, family outreach assistance is not reimbursed by insurance or integrated into healthcare. Many people suffer and die from hereditary disease that could have been prevented or caught early.
 
We have shown that our strategies to encourage family outreach can act as a communication multiplier. Our pilot research at the University of Washington showed that this approach enhanced patient experience, was considered ethical, and was appreciated by newly identified relatives. Our approach is low-cost and is 25 to 50 times more effective than awareness and education interventions that target the general population.

We aim to give NJ families facing pediatric cancer a place to turn for comfort/relief with free services tailored to each family

Professional supportive counseling is available in the home or virtually and includes advocacy help with insurance companies, medical providers, landlords, etc. We also provide material support such as food, clothing, toys, household items and birthday and holiday gifts, and emergency financial assistance for urgent needs. ECF’s goal is to help families navigate the complicated world of cancer, preserve their emotional well-being, and relieve their day-to-day burdens. All our services are provided with the assistance of our four Regional Centers located in Bergen, Union, Monmouth and Gloucester counties covering the entire state of New Jersey.

Hoop For All is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that uses sports to create health awareness and financially aid patients during treatment.

Our five health focuses are cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, mental health, and HIV/aids. Our events also serve as a platform to financially aid affected patients during the treatment and recovery process. DEAN Foundation has a 26-year history of being the premier provider of Hospice and Palliative Care services in the community, free of charge to the economically weaker sections of society. Through their Outpatient and Home Care services they offer medical care, emotional and spiritual support, tailored to the patients' wishes to remain at home.

*Since inception in 1998, our teams of doctors and nurses have reached out to 19,022 patients (Adults, Children & the Elderly) as on 31 July 2024 through 81,244 Outpatient Services and 72,577 Home Care visits; 14,965 have been Cancer patients. In our Paediatric Palliative Care Project, we have treated 3,737 children between the ages 0 to 12 years of whom 2,398 have been afflicted by Cancer. Currently, approx. 1002 patients are under our care.  About 85% of our patients are from very low socioeconomic backgrounds; unable to cope with the negative impacts of adverse health events, and approx. 50% are geriatric patients.*

Dragon Master Initiative's mission is to find and accelerate cures for cancers and other rare diseases by fostering and rewarding a community of collaboration and innovation. We support big data initiatives, like Cavatica.org, to democratize access to research data. We are partnered with Amazon Web Services and the Children's Brain Tumor Network on the D.A.V.I.D. AI tool to improve research data accessibility and usage. While we work toward cures, we also seek spread awareness in the community and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

The Lundin Cancer Fund was created in honour of Mr. Lukas Lundin who died from glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in 2022. Lukas Lundin was head of the Lundin Group of Companies, a leading force in the mining and oil and gas industries. Entrepreneurial, and always adventurous, he was passionate about the resource industry and its power to transform lives. During the course of his illness, it was recognized that there was a considerable lack of awareness and treatment of various types of cancers, particularly brain cancers, as well as a lack of funding of clinical trials and new innovative research. He and his family wanted to change that. The goals of the fund are as follows:  - To fund brain and other cancer treatment and research, the Lundin family and KBF CANADA established the Lundin Cancer Fund at KBF CANADA. - To encourage international collaboration and sharing of scientific data.

Our mission at Team Survivor Northwest is to provide a broad range of fitness and health education programs to enable women cancer survivors, in any stage of treatment or recovery and at any fitness level, to take an active role in their ongoing physical and emotional healing.

INCLUSION
We serve all women, without regard to race, age, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, physical or mental disability, or religion, with any type of cancer diagnosis, at any fitness and skill level.

QUALITY
All our instructors are experienced trainers with understanding of cancer specific needs. Program delivery is mindful of the physical and emotional sensitivities surrounding cancer.

ACCESS
Our programs are free of charge to TSNW Members. Programs are offered in various locations within the Puget Sound Region.

EDUCATION
We continually share with our community, through a variety of methods, important and emerging information related to cancer survivorship.

Team Survivor Northwest

Special Love's mission is to provide a community of support for children with cancer and their families.

For nearly 40 years, Special Love has provided a strong, nurturing environment for children with cancer and their families through its free camps and get-away weekends. We have also offered emergency financial assistance,  educational scholarships for young adults who have beaten cancer and are ready to move on with their lives, and scholarships for their siblings.

Special Love’s Camp Fantastic is a protocol within the National Cancer Institute and a recognized charity within the National Institutes of Health

Since its inception in 1983, children have come from the Washington metropolitan area, as well as from areas across the country through partnerships with the National Cancer Institute and Mid-Atlantic area hospitals.  

Each year, Special Love serves hundreds of children, families, and young adults, and receives no government funding.  All operating funds are provided by individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Children who participate in and benefit from Special Love's programs range in age from 7-17 years of age, and young survivors ages 18-30 years of age.

~Camp Fantastic – is held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center located in Front Royal, Virginia; and welcomes more than 100 children each year who are actively in treatment, or survivors up to 5 years past treatment as they adjust to their “new normal.”   Campers range in age from 7 to 17.
~BRASS Camp and BRASS Weekend – stands for BRothers And SiSters.  BRASS is designed specifically for the siblings of our patients, as well as bereaved siblings.  BRASS offers them a place for open, honest dialog with other campers and counselors to ensure they too are enveloped in a strong support system where they can put the family trauma of cancer away to spend time being a kid, with the focus completely on them. 
~Family Weekends – a weekend getaway experience for the whole family that provides patients, families, survivors, and bereaved families the opportunity to join together and share what they have learned with each other on their cancer journey. These weekends also provide quality family time, which is scare during a cancer journey, and patients, survivors and families the opportunity to discuss how they are coping, or have coped; and why, even at the darkest times, there is room for joy.
~Parents Getaway Weekend – is a weekend solely for the parents of patients and survivors who are 30 years old or younger and still live at home, as well as bereaved parents.  The weekend is planned for parents, by parents to provide them with a safe place to share and support one another in a small group setting; and as an outlet to deal with the facts of cancer individually, and ultimately regain a sense of control.  The weekend welcomes parents of recently diagnosed patients as well, offering them a new community of support they will need on their child’s cancer journey.
Parents Weekend also provides the parents with spa-caliber treatment options such as massages, yoga, and make-up makeovers; as well as local activities and shopping, along with a Saturday night dinner dance.  All things they no longer have time to enjoy.

VOICE (Virtual Online In-Hospital Camp Experience
In 2020, when the nation shut-down due to the COVID19 pandemic, Special Love developed and launched VOICE (Virtual Online In-home Camp Experience) within two weeks to continue its mission of providing a community of support for the children and their families. The pandemic was not going to stop us, knowing the added turmoil the pandemic would make in the lives of families already dealing with the unthinkable heartache of childhood cancer, and children with cancer would feel even more isolated and alone. 
VOICE began with virtual campfires, fun short videos and small ways to stay connected, and as the pandemic continued, grew to include a virtual BRASS Camp for the patient’s siblings, offering an entire month of fun activities. That was soon followed by a week-long virtual Camp Fantastic, which brought all the joy of “camp” to not only campers confined at home, but those in the hospital as well. Each day started with morning assembly, and ended with virtual cabin chats. 
Prior camp, each camper was sent a “Camp in a Box” kit packed with everything they needed to participate in every activity.  
As the pandemic continued, VOICE grew into a twice monthly program reaching children across the country, and the Atlantic Ocean, and in the isolation of hospital rooms.


Emergency Financial Relief Program
A cancer diagnosis changes every aspect of a family’s life. Next to the well-being of a child, a parent’s most pressing concern is often financial.

Special Love provides emergency financial relief to families who have participated Special Love’s programming, as well as other families dealing with a child’s cancer. Assistance helps with non-medical financial needs such as utilities, rent and mortgage, as well as auto repair and payment and assisting in laying a child to rest.  

In 2020, Special Love experienced twice the number of requests than in previous years, and not only assisted with funeral expenses, but helped one young man keep the dream of a future family alive by paying the cost for storage of his sperm while he undergoes cancer treatment. 

Educational Scholarships for Cancer Survivors
Childhood cancer leaves families with debt, and some survivors with learning challenges that may make it difficult to attend, or get into a college or other post-secondary educational institution and trade schools.  Each year, Special Love provides 35 to 40 educational scholarships to young cancer survivors who have participated in Special Love’s programs to assist with books, housing, and tuition.

Special Love’s young scholarship recipients have endured challenges and heartache during their treatments and move on with their lives by exhibiting great courage and strength.  All have determined not to let cancer define them, or limit their futures.

Banco de Tapitas began as a movement of young Mexicans, students and professionals, with the intention of Supporting the Fight Against Childhood Cancer through Recycling.  Banco de Tapitas seeks to provide comprehensive support to more than 1,000 children and young people in Mexico who have been diagnosed with cancer through recycling campaigns nationwide. Under the motto "If life gives you caps, don't throw them away!", in April 2016 we launched our first campaign on Facebook, which reached more than 2.5 million views worldwide, this being the moment to promotion of this project. Throughout its history, Banco de Tapitas has managed to serve more than 1,000 patients directly and just over 2,200 indirectly through its allies, achieving recognition from the Ministry of Well-being and the Líderes del Bajío program in the social sector.  The goal for this year is to deliver more than 6 million pesos in support to our patients financed by recycling programs, deliver more than 200 oncological wigs, operate 4 shelters and deliver 1 state-of-the-art device to hospitals and oncological areas most in need in our country. We will also begin formal operations in the United States.

BCA seeks to improve breast cancer survival rates through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure.

The mission of Breast Cancer Alliance is to improve survival rates and quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer through better prevention, early detection, treatment and cure.   

To achieve these goals, Breast Cancer Alliance funds screening and diagnostic breast cancer services for underserved and underinsured populations, ensuring that access to early detection is available to women in Fairfield/Westchester Counties.

Breast Cancer Alliance also pursues a distinctive three-pronged mission that includes funding innovative pre-clinical research, young researchers at early stages of their careers, supporting surgical fellowship training, and providing community screening services.

BCA differentiates itself by focusing exclusively on early-stage, groundbreaking research not yet eligible for federal funding, effectively serving as scientific venture capital for potentially transformative treatments.

Murphy Charitable Foundation Uganda

At Noora Health, we believe no human being should suffer because of a preventable medical condition.

Noora Health is focused on improving patient outcomes in public health systems in India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia by training the family caregivers of patients admitted to government hospitals - making them an integral part of healthcare delivery. They develop high quality training and education materials (videos, flipcharts etc) delivered through a train the trainer model for healthcare professionals to use in-hospital to upskill and train the family and patient. They also have a post-discharge follow-up on mobile (via WhatsApp, teletraining, and voice messages) that allows them to share content with families when they return home, be there in a moment of need, answer questions etc. 

They have seen remarkable outcomes – in a cohort of patients, the program reduced post-surgical cardiac complications by 71%, maternal complications by 12%, newborn complications by 16%, newborn readmissions by 56%, and newborn mortality by 18%. 

Noora Health is in the scale-up phase of their work, aiming to reach 70 million caregivers in the next five years (they recently surpassed 3 million), and they are eager to leverage their digital capabilities to achieve this with high fidelity to the quality they are known for.

**Nearly 90,000 Adolescent and Young Adults (AYAs) ages 15-39 are diagnosed with cancer each year in the United States, and this number continues to increase.** 

Additionally, there are over 633K AYA survivors currently living in the US. AYAs are the most underserved population by age, and it is well documented that they often fall through the gaps in the healthcare system. Social support is vital to their quality of life and health outcomes. Yet, supporters in this age group often lack the life experience to stay connected and supportive, leaving the patient to endure this difficult time feeling isolated and alone.

b-present Foundation is a San Diego-based nonprofit established following the devastating loss of 20-year-old [Kirsten](https://b-present.org/kirstens-story/) to cancer in 2016. We improve the quality of life and health outcomes of adolescents and young adults with cancer nationwide through programs that promote and strengthen connections between young adults and their communities of support.

b-present actively engages with the national AYA community of survivors, supporters, health professionals, researchers, and nonprofits. b-present partners with researchers to study the barriers to social support, lead monthly meetings with western hospital AYA coordinators, lead focus groups to get program feedback, and host annual community workshops to discuss support gaps. These collaborative relationships allow the diverse needs of the AYA population to stay top of mind and shape future program innovations, interventions, and strategies to improve support.

Our goal is to help every individual see the important role they can play in the social support network and how they have the power to reduce social isolation and improve health outcomes by being present when they are needed most.

In Korea, about four children are diagnosed with cancer every day, and approximately 12,000 children receive treatment for cancer each year. A child’s sudden illness can place a family in financial hardship and lead to various psychological and social challenges, as treatment often requires an extended period. Fortunately, unlike what we see in movies or TV dramas, childhood cancer is no longer an incurable illness. With advancements in medical treatment, 80% of children with cancer are completely cured and can lead healthy lives if they receive proper care.

The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation is committed to providing social services for children with cancer so that they can receive the medical treatment they need and return to society in good health. To ensure that no child discontinues treatment due to financial difficulties, we provide financial support for treatment costs. Additionally, we offer a range of professional support services beyond psychological therapy to help children and their families return to a healthy life after treatment. CANSA is a volunteer-driven organisation, relying on our trained volunteers to assist in delivering our services to local communities across South Africa. We have various volunteer opportunities and trainings available.

CANCER SCREENINGS (Stats 2020/21)
• Over 54 210 conducted in total (with abnormalities referred accordingly).
• Conducted over 6 260 pap smears and facilitated 2 989 in partnership with the Department of Health (DoH).
• Carried out more than 20 570 clinical breast examinations.
• 8 848 Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) tests completed and 351 done in partnership with DoH.
• Over 3 010 skin examinations using the FotoFinder Mole Analysis device took place.
• Expanded workplace screening and wellness programmes.


HEALTH SCREENING, EDUCATION AND AWARENESS (Stats 2020/21)
• Approximately 40 727 individual information and education sessions conducted with screenings.
• Over 7 560 people assessed to determine their lifestyle risk, with 2 361 glucose tests performed for diabetes.
• More than 465 900 people reached through 1 738 talks and 4 531 exhibitions with the help of 795 health promotion volunteers.
• Over 150 radio talks hosted for cancer education.
• Distributed over 71 110 information leaflets to promote health awareness campaigns.


CANSA ORGANISATIONAL PROFILE
• More than 79 700 youth reached through 402 school programmes.
• Our CANSA Helpdesk responded to over 12 680 enquiries for support and information via telephone, WhatsApp, email, website and social media.


CURRENT PLANS AND THE FUTURE
CANSA’s service and income generation is managed and deployed centrally with national teams, placed across the country. We streamline and modernise our service and fundraising efforts regularly. We have CANSA Care Centres around the country with certain CANSA Care Centres operating as ‘Virtual CANSA Care Centres’ where employees work remotely to offer services within their surrounding communities assisted by willing volunteers.


Our country’s economic recovery post COVID-19 will take a few years. The need for our normal services continues and even more patients and caregivers need help. We are aware of our duty to continue to educate South Africa about the cancer burden and find innovative ways to help lower the cancer risk, while providing support and care to the communities we serve.

We have research collaborators across industry and academia working with us to understand how health misinformation affects intersectional patient populations and evaluate interventional strategies for public health advocacy at the grassroots level.

We provide vaccine education and promotion to various civic & health organizations using our culturally tailored public health communications framework to develop equity-focused messaging targeting intersectional BIPOC communities.

We provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. 

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana provides support and hope to families who have a hospitalized child at Arkansas Children’s, Baptist Health, or the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).  At Ronald McDonald House and the Ronald McDonald Family Room families find a free place to stay that include meals and snacks, indoor and outdoor play spaces, laundry, and other daily essentials.  Most importantly families receive 24/7 support from compassionate staff and volunteers who understand the nightmare that it is to have a baby or child in the hospital.

Abby's Joy is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit created to assist families battling DIPG and partner with organizations that do the same. 

At Abby's Joy, our primary focus is our families. DIPG is a devastating diagnosis that statistically has 0% survival rate, although there are some patients defying these numbers. Our organization was born out of the pain and tragedy of DIPG taking our youngest daughter, Abigail Lynn Bramlett (Forever 6), from us on June 25, 2019 after battling this beast for a year. Our pain has been turned into purpose assuring parents, family members, and friends have the right tools and support to walk this challenging road with just a bit of relief. That relief could come in the form of not having to worry about a bill being paid, or having to take off from work to be with your child because they are literally fighting to live. This relief could look like helping to make a dream come true or ease the burden of end of life expenses. We are also available for one on one conversations to talk out any and all of the "it's not fair, scary, this shouldn't be happening" thoughts that inevitably enter the minds of anyone associated with a DIPG diagnosis. We have very lofty goals for this foundation including our website that is an ever evolving entity with newest possible treatments from all over the world, comfort and support measures, step by step instructions/suggestions for different steps of this journey and a place to listen to those of us who have walked this road. We come to the aid of DIPG families selected by our Board of Directors in the form of monthly grants.  We are working on information packets to be distributed throughout hospitals for new DIPG families, One goal is to provide connection and distraction for both patients and families through advance communication technology (this is a work in progress). We are working on a YouTube channel that will hold inspirational content or just a place to hear "You're not alone".  All of our board members and staff are strictly volunteers. All of our family support comes from generous donors like you! We host multiple fundraisers throughout the year

DIPG is a path no one ever chooses. It is thrust upon us with sometimes little warning and very little time. While modern medicine searches for a cure or even a viable treatment, Abby's Joy is here to help navigate the "til then" moments.
