Introduction:

PACHEDO Foundation is a registered Ugandan NGO founded in 2007 and officially registered in 2012. With its main office in Kampala and affiliates in South Africa, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, PACHEDO aims to empower disadvantaged communities across Uganda.

Target Groups:

PACHEDO focuses on marginalized populations, including:

  • Children
  • Women
  • Youth
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Individuals affected by violence and exclusion
  • Those living with HIV/AIDS

Objectives:

  1. Improve health and nutrition for children, women, and youth in disadvantaged communities.
  2. Enhance community resilience and food security through sustainable livelihoods.
  3. Protect the rights of vulnerable groups, including women and children.
  4. Improve access to education for vulnerable populations.
  5. Strengthen community resilience to climate change and humanitarian emergencies.
  6. Enhance access to sustainable WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and waste management services.

Mission:

To save lives and empower vulnerable communities towards health, sustainable livelihoods, and social justice through various interventions, including crisis risk reduction, humanitarian response, capacity building, advocacy, and direct services.

Key Activities:

  • Conducted baseline surveys and nutritional research in refugee communities.
  • Provided nutrition training for pregnant and lactating women.
  • Organized community health education and immunization campaigns.
  • Raised awareness on women and girl child rights, engaging over 12,000 participants.
  • Trained marginalized women in transformative skills for economic empowerment.
  • Supported survivors of domestic violence with medical, legal, and psychosocial assistance.
  • Helped teenage mothers access education and vocational skills.

Future Activities: Planned initiatives include mental health awareness and support, educational resources for vulnerable children, entrepreneurship training, disaster risk reduction, and comprehensive WASH programs. PACHEDO aims to enhance community support structures and provide advocacy for the rights and access to services for vulnerable populations.

PACHEDO Foundation continues to strive for impactful change, ensuring that marginalized communities achieve healthier, more secure, and empowered lives.
