The Tanging Yaman Foundation is a non-profit Philippine organization which bridges the generosity of countless Filipinos. 

Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. (Tanging Yaman), a non-profit Philippine organization, was established in 1992 when Fr. Manuel "Manoling" Francisco, SJ first performed his original liturgical music with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO). Almost every year, Fr. Manoling would perform with the PPO or the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

These concerts, entitled Tanging Yaman: Himig at Pananalig, graced the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Meralco Theatre, the UP Theatre, and other major Philippine theaters. The concerts even went on tour to Batangas, Quezon Province, and Ifugao.

 

In addition to the orchestra, these Tanging Yaman concerts featured choirs like Bukas Palad, Hangad, Bungang Himig, Tinig Barangka, the Pansol Choir, and popular artists like Basil Valdez, Dulce, Ogie Alcasid, Ariel Rivera, Jamie Rivera, and Nolyn Cabahug. Apart from celebrating Filipino music and Filipino faith, the concerts also raised funds for institutions that build and nurture local communities.

 

Some of the beneficiaries of the Tanging Yaman concerts were have been the Sibol-Hesus School for gifted public school children of Mr. Onofre Pagsanghan; the Alagad ni Maria Youth Center in Infanta; the Quezonians Home for the Aged; the Kiangan, Ifugao Scholarship Fund; the Diocesan Seminary in Lipa, Batangas; Our Lady of the Pentecost Parish in Loyola Heights; Mary the Queen Parish in San Juan; the Ateneo de Manila High School Scholarship Fund; and the School of Living Tradition in Benguet.

 

Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. has then evolved from being an annual liturgical concert to being a conduit foundation, bridging the generosity of countless Filipinos here and abroad to the vital needs of their fellow men and women in the Philippines.

Founded by a local church in 2016, we disbanded in May 2022 due to budget cuts but quickly regrouped and reestablished the choir as an independent nonprofit. Now two years strong, we aim to become a lasting part of our community.

c89.5 is listener-supported public radio, playing uplifting dance music and providing career-connected learning for our students.

c89.5 is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station owned by the Seattle Public Schools and operated by professional adult staff and students in the electronic media program at Nathan Hale High School. The station is almost entirely self-funded: over 87% of its operating revenue comes from listener donations and local businesses.

Over 150,000 listeners throughout Puget Sound tune to c89.5 every week for a diverse range of music celebrating individual differences and focusing on the joy in life. The station reaches a broad range of listeners, with a high concentration in both the 18-24 and 45-54 age ranges. Over 30% of c89.5 listeners identify as LGBTQ+.

c89.5 supports the personal and professional growth of our students, giving them the skills and confidence to succeed in careers in media and other professions. Our students gain practical experience in digital media production, public speaking, and professional presentation. Many of our alumni have gone on to careers in journalism, radio, television, and digital media.

The Verbier Festival Friends Associaton was launched in 1993, when a group of music-loving donors was inspired by the idea of a two-week festival of classical music in the Swiss Alps in Valais. The Founder & Director Martin Engstroem calls his Verbier Festival "a waking dream"— a dream that would not have been realised without the consistent generosity and personal commitment of the Friends. Their support for the Festival as a whole, and notably for its learning programmes and major artistic projects, has been crucial to its rise to the top: the Verbier Festival is now one of the world's most renowned classical music events, blazing a trail into the 21st century.

Each donation made to The Friends of the Verbier Festival fund at Myriad (ex-KBFUS) is subject to a 5% administrative fee. These fees constitute costs to Myriad to administer donations made to the VF Friends Association; they total less than it would cost to operate a U.S. chapter of the Friends Association as a separate 501-C3 entity. The Association is nevertheless grateful to donors willing to top-up their donations by 5% to cover these fees.

The Verbier Festival is an international classical music event that takes place each summer in the mountain town of Verbier, Switzerland. The Festival's mission is to build a community of exchange between great masters and young artists from all over the world and to be a leader in its field by providing meaningful music education programmes.

Launched in 1994, and now globally renowned, the Festival welcomes audiences with a distinctive and exhilarating blend of events, both large-scale and intimate. MY Arts supports young artists and develops innovative events, focusing on synergies and collaborations between music, art, applied arts, theater, dance etc, with the aim of opening-up new perspectives - listening to art and seeing music. The aim of our projects is the development of a new event format, combining a traditional classical music concert and an informal crossover concert, incorporating multiple media and focuses: the "Concert of Arts".   Our grounding concept is a synergistic and dialogical collaboration between music, art, applied arts, theater, dance, sensory experience and fashion, with the aim of opening-up new perspectives—listening to art and seeing music. "Friday Nights with Yury Revich" is the flagship project of MY ARTS, a registered non-profit association for cultural support, promoting and networking young creative potential across multiple disciplines and platforms at the local and international levels.

Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival's mission encompasses the mentoring of gifted international young classical musicians & singers.

The Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival was conceived by classical pianist and professor, Riccardo Cecchetti, its Artistic Director and President. Drawing on his experience as artistic and organizational consultant for classical musical initiatives in Spain and Italy, in 2016 Riccardo founded the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, Italy.



From Cecchetti’s passion to create an opportunity made by musicians, to support musicians of the future, and to welcome classical music lovers from all over the world, the Festival quickly established itself as one of the most important initiatives dedicated to classical music in Europe.



The Festival’s groundbreaking proposal was based on three closely interrelated elements:



- Educational programs and master classes lead by prestigious international musicians;

- Competitions for the young participants of the Master Classes Program;

- Concerts given by visiting artists and the most accomplished students enrolled in the Festival.



These elements informed the creation of a program rich in public events offered in unique locations in Lucca and Tuscany, including concerts given by prestigious guest artists and some of the most talented young musicians from all over the world, as well as lectures, meetings with artists, and exhibitions and workshops, all in keeping with the musical mission of the Festival. 



Many of the most renowned musicians, worldwide, enthusiastically embrace our project including Alfred Brendel, Bruno Giuranna, Boris Berman, Imogen Cooper, Viviane Hagner, Kim Kashkashian, Alain Meunier, Claudio Bohórquez, etc.



The primary mission of the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival is to promote and nurture talented young musicians. Winners of the Virtuoso & Belcanto competitions - all of whom are students of our courses - have launched prestigious careers. Among the many of them are, notably, the Leonkoro Quartet who won the 1st Prize in two of the most prestigious international competitions in 2022: the Concours International de Quatuor à Bordeaux and the International String Quartet Competition held at London's Wigmore Hall, earning 1st Prize and a collection of nine special awards, including interpretations, residencies, and concert prizes. The Leonkoro Quartet immediately embarked on an impressive international career.



The Festival, organized by the Association Virtuoso & Belcanto APS, has developed a profound network of international collaborators, important among which is the Populäre Konzerte Concerts Season at the Berlin Philharmonie, which has been held in Berlin for 66 years. Our collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonie brings the very finest of the young soloists selected from Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival to perform in the Philharmonie’s season's concerts, accompanied by the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin and in the world's most prestigious concert hall. Additionally, we collaborate with many other organizations throughout Europe such as the ORT (Orchestra della Toscana); Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti Napoli; and Nova Orchester Wien in Vienna: we anticipate establishing many more such collaborations. Over the years, twin festivals have already been established in Norway (Grimstad) and Spain (Osuna), and others are in the works, including in the United States.

Founded in 1938, Lucerne Festival is one of the leading international festivals in the world of classical music. The three categories "Symphony," "Contemporary," and "Music for Future" represent the focal points of the Festival's programming. The main festival takes place in summer from mid-August to mid-September and offers a widely varied range of approximately 100 concerts and related events. Each Summer Festival features a guiding theme that runs dramaturgically through the programming. The Festival presents a diverse array of formats, including symphony concerts, chamber music, recitals, debuts, late night events, and much more. 

Adding to the Summer Festival, are three short festivals: a spring residency featuring the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, a Piano Festival curated by the pianist Igor Levit in May and "Lucerne Festival Forward" in November, which is programmed by musicians from the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO).

A classical music festival inaugurated in Summer 2017 by international orchestra conductor Gianluca Marcianò, a native of the town of Lerici set on the stunning bay known as the Gulf of Poets. Until 2020 the festival was known as Festival Suoni dal Golfo and then changed its name to the more easily remembered Lerici Music Festival. Over its first 7 years the festival has grown, attracting an audience of international music lovers and realising the vision of the founder in several aspects:
* to bring beautiful music to a town renowned for centuries for attracting writers, artists and composers such as Byron, Percy Bysse Shelley and his wife Mary Shelley (the castle in Lerici inspired her novel Frankenstein), D. H. Lawrence, Wagner, Virginia Woolf and many Italian writers.
* to develop the careers of new, young Italian and international soloists
* to bring international musicians to work side-by-side with emerging talent
* to bring together people of diverse nationalities, cultures and background using music as common ground
* for young orchestral musicians to reach the local residents with open rehearsals, street music and outreach. 
The aim of the Festival has, through its spirit of inclusion, become a constant in the European Festival schedule and its ultimate dream is to create a small concert hall for the town. Performances take place in squares, villas, nearby villages and Lerici town hall and new venues are annually sourced to give the best environment possible to each programme.
The Festival is a member of the prestigious European Festivals Association.

Set in the scenic mountain region of central Portugal, the annual  Bendada International Music Festival  (Bendada, Portugal) is a classical music festival that empowers young artists to fulfill their musical talent. Founded by Dr. Inês Andrade and Dr. Edoardo Carpenedo in 2016, the BIMF is an entrepreneurial effort to revitalize the interior of Portugal using music, arts, and education as a medium to bring culture, local pride, and economic growth back into rural areas. The Festival started as a five-day summer music festival in July 2016. Since then, it has grown into a year-round project, attracting students, artists, and audiences worldwide. The festival concerts and cultural activities take place in the Beiras, the interior region of Portugal, as well as curated events in Portugal's main cities of Lisbon and Porto, and the United States. At its core, the BIMF is a community where young musicians can learn from sought-after pedagogues and artists, collaborate and meet people from all over the world driven by the same goals, and showcase their artistry on stage in professional concerts. The BIMF offers annual  Spring and Summer music academies  (for musicians ages 8-13 and 14 and up, respectively), a  year-round concert series  with monthly concerts featuring established artists, alums from the festival academies, and symphonic concerts, and a  concerto competition , providing the festival academy students with the prestigious opportunity to debut as soloists with an orchestra, win monetary prizes, and professional performing engagements. The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF) was inspired by the acclaimed motion picture Mr. Holland’s Opus, the story of the profound effect a dedicated music teacher had on generations of students. The Foundation keeps music alive in our schools by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs, and providing vital services to school districts nationwide, giving under-represented youth access to the many benefits of music education, leading them to success in school, and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music.

Stringendo is a 501c3 organization focused on the arts. It is based in Poughkeepsie, NY and received its nonprofit status in 2009.

Stringendo music school nurtures a diverse group of young string players to become passionate musicians and accomplished performers.  Through orchestra concerts and fiddle gigs, in private lessons and summer music camps, students cultivate life skills: the ability to listen, to lead and, above all, to work together to achieve the extraordinary.

Stringendo maintains a generous financial aid program, and no student is ever turned away due to financial need.   We work hard to extend services into areas that have been traditionally underserved, and our most recent partnership with students in the City of Poughkeepsie has been wildly successful. Our PK Strings group offers after-school classes and musical instruments to motivated students in Poughkeepsie’s elementary, middle, and high school grades, teaching the basics and providing transportation to Saturday classes and Summer Camp, as well as instruments and meals when needed.

Tuition is always kept affordable, well below "industry standard," to make string education accessible to all.   As a result, our Saturday Orchestra program, Tuesday Fiddle Program and Summer Camp attract students from all over the Hudson Valley and beyond.   Our student retention rate is extremely high and many of our older students volunteer as mentors/counselors to our younger students as part of our "morning helper" and "fiddle helper" programs.   Once graduated, many of our students return, either as teachers, camp counselors, workshop instructors, or as visiting alumni, creating a strong and vibrant community of string players at all ages and abilities.     Our goal is to continue to expand our reach, to be sure that any child interested in playing a string instrument has the resources and ability to do so.  Donations received will help us continue to provide the high caliber of string education Stringendo has become known for.

Bringing music across the planet to those who need it most. Can music change the world? We believe it can.

Keys of Change is a charity formed by individuals who deeply believe that playing music can make this world a better place. Keys of Change aims to advance the lives of children and young people around the world through musical education and access to live classical music performances. The charity was set up in early 2011 by the international concert pianist Panos Karan, who works with three other trustees, all involved in music and/or education, and a growing number of committed volunteers in many countries.  ​ Over the past years, Keys of Change has brought classical music, often for the first time, to deprived or suffering audiences, in remote areas of the Amazon basin, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kolkata and the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima area in Japan, as well as in Greece, Russia and London. Our music has brought alive emotions - fascination, happiness, tears of sadness – and generated hope and encouragement.  Wherever we go to perform, we also set up and fund musical education projects, working in conjunction with local music teachers. In Ecuador, we organise weekly guitar lessons for young people from deprived backgrounds. In Uganda and Sierra Leone, we have provided instruments and music lessons. In Fukushima and India, we have made regular visits to work with young musicians to improve their playing, and give them the opportunity to perform in joint concerts with Keys of Change musicians. In the case of Fukushima this culminated in the founding of the Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta, and organising for up to 50 young Japanese musicians to travel to London, to give a concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in April 2014, to Tokyo, performing at Tokyo Opera City in August 2015, and Symphony Hall, Boston, in April 2016.

Keys of Change

One of the most sought-after young artist programs in France 

This Paris-based opera company is dedicated to lyric repertoire from the mid-18th century to the present. Founded and directed by American conductor David Stern, it combines an ambitious young artists program and a versatile instrumental ensemble.  Opera Fuoco has been in existence since 2003 initially as a top-level period instrument ensemble and later as an internationally recognized young artist troupe.  David Stern, Katharina Wolff and the Fuoco team have developed a multi-faceted program to develop young vocal talent at a professional level.  Opera Fuoco offers a unique, custom-made experience to young singers transitioning from conservatory to professional life.  Singers are able to work with Maestro Stern, experienced vocal coaches and stage directors in various contexts ranging from masterclasses and recitals to large-scale performances with orchestra and fully staged opera productions. The repertoire spans not only several centuries but a variety of genres, from baroque to contemporary, including musical comedy and jazz.  Opera Fuoco has shaped its young artist program not as an academy but as a professional company for young singers engaged for a period of three to four years. In its 13 years of existence, Opera Fuoco's Young Artist Program has trained approximately 50 singers from 15 different countries. Our 15 current members come from 5 different countries, and candidates from the last round of auditions represented 34 nationalities. Opera Fuoco's activities are largely Paris-area based, with masterclasses held in prestigious spaces such as the Petit Palais and regular concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. For Angie, she turned to drugs after losing hope for her future. Deep in depression, her pain got so unbearable that she tried to hang herself. But the rope broke. In a moment of desperation and anger, Angie cried out to God. That’s when she heard KAMB Celebration Radio in the background, and realized that God was there for her all along. That encouragement moved her to get help. Today, she and her daughter listen to KAMB every morning and are reminded that God’s love is enduring, and that life can be abundant.

Our goal is to help push the industry towards more fair and equitable practices by supplying free music industry education for indie artists and their team, and by offering development & release support to a select group of artists. 

We don’t “sign” anyone, instead we partner with artists on a non-exclusive basis for their releases taking absolutely no earnings along the way. All funds go directly to the creative collaborators (artist/producers/writers). 

Our primary mission is to help artists create sustainable independent careers, maintaining artistic control and ownership along the way. We supply creative & artistic development, legal support, project management services, and often act as a conduit between the artist and potential partners (distributors/labels/tastemaker support/managers/bookers etc).

We are the oldest educational institution for the performing arts in Greece, founded as a non-profit organization in 1871. 

The Athens Conservatoire (greek: Odeion Athinon) is the oldest educational institution for the performing arts in modern Greece, founded as a non-profit organization in 1871, by the "Music and Drama Association "Athens Conservatoire - 1871"
The institution played a significant role in the advancement of music studies in Greece since day one. Some of the most renowned international musical personalities have graduated from or taught at the Athens Conservatoire, including conductor Dimitiris Mitropoulos (NY Philharmonic music director from 1951 to 1958), composers Nikos Skalkottas and Mikis Theodorakis, opera diva Maria Callas, pianists Gina Bachauer and Dimitris Sgouros and many others. Today, apart from continuing to offer to its c.700 music students the full range of classical music studies from the earliest stages to the concert diploma, the Athens Conservatoire is constantly expanding into new areas: thus, the Jazz Music Department includes leading Greek jazz musicians among its teaching staff and has already gained significant momentum, the Centre of Early Music offers new insights into historically informed performance to a growing number of students in collaboration with international institutions such as the Leeds University (UK), while a new program of studies leading to a BMus (Hons) degree in classical music performance is being developed in collaboration with Goldsmiths College, University of London (UK). 

Meanwhile, the first Drama School in Greece, also founded in 1871, has had a pivotal role in the advancement of theatrical studies in the country. Today, the Drama School of the Athens Conservatoire, member of the World Theatre Education Alliance (WTEA) – Beijing, is included among the select few top professional drama schools in Greece, officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture. The school students and its staff regularly stage cutting edge performances and cooperate with leading drama institutions abroad.

The Athens Conservatoire School of Dance, although established in the ‘00s, has been constantly expanding ever since and today features one of the few state-accredited Higher Professional Dance Schools in the country, complementing perfectly the Athens Conservatoire's wide portfolio of performing arts disciplines.

The Athens Conservatoire Centre for Research and Documentation, initially founded in 2015 to rescue from oblivion and decay our institution's extensive historical archives, is currently developing a broad range of research and editorial initiatives such as the preparation and edition of the first ever extensive History of Music in Contemporary Greece. The AC Centre for Research and Documentation participates and regularly contributes to international fora like the IAML (International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres), publishes scientific papers and a magazine, and organizes various exhibitions, such as a major exhibition on the composer Iannis Xenakis in collaboration with the Greek National Museum of Contemporary Art.

Many other major Greek arts organizations such as the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, the Greek National Opera, the Athens & Epidaurus International Festival, the Onassis Cultural Centre, the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) and many others regularly invite us to participate in leading cultural events.

The Athens Conservatoire iconic building, located in the heart of Athens near the Presidential Palace and the Aristotle Lyceum, is designed by the famous Greek architect Ioannis Despotopoulos (1903-1992) who holds a prominent position within the modernist architectural movement of the 1930s and the Bauhaus School in which he actively participated. His work for the Athens Conservatoire is the only completed part of an ambitious large-scale cultural complex commissioned in 1959 by the then government for Athens. For these reasons, the building is officially designated as a "Modern Architectural Monument" by the Greek Ministry of Culture. Today, this recently renovated building is functioning as a unique and enviable cultural hub for various contemporary artistic and cultural high profile events.

The Athens Conservatoire 

The International Beethoven Project, est. 2008 as a NFP, celebrates the extraordinary lives & creative music of unique composers.

​​The mission of the International Beethoven Project is threefold: 

1) to celebrate Beethoven's music and humanist legacy

2) to make classical music more engaging, exciting and meaningful for all people

3) to serve as an educational resource 

By showcasing Beethoven as the revolutionary musician he was, we believe we can inspire new generations of listeners, performers and arts administrators to appreciate and engage with this art form. To do this, IBP has used many different approaches, from producing numerous events to making films, recordings and educational media.

Launching the "International Beethoven Day" initiative in 2021, IBP seeks to engage even more people across the world in carrying Beethoven's legacy of humanism and music forward.

Upcoming projects include a sweeping multi-media traversal of Beethoven's epic 32 piano sonatas that will include, in addition to recordings and films of the originals, music by contemporary composers and musicians inspired by the sonatas, along with readings of Beethoven's letters by actors and musicians and visual works of art to accompany the whole.

This project will be presented globally as well as brought to schools around the world.

IBP is also currently organizing the first-ever web3/blockchain/metaverse/NFT conference focused on the classical music sector.

From annual celebrations of Beethoven's birthday every December since 2010 and through his 250th anniversary in 2020, to multi-disciplinary festivals that have brought all the arts and many musical genres together under one roof, we have sought engagement across generations and society. 

"An event of world-class importance" (Chicago Tribune), IBP's Beethoven Festival has served as a showcase for what was possible in the future of classical music.

The International Beethoven Project has also produced several critically-hailed recordings, including a now-legendary album with a first-ever recording of a work by Beethoven, the Trio Hess 47, a top 25 on the Classical Billboard charts in 2010.

In the last few years, IBP has produced several music films and documentaries on Bach and Beethoven and continues to work on future productions. IBP's goal is to leverage the wide-reaching impact of audiovisual media to create novel ways of appreciating classical music's great classics, as well as inspiring contemporary composers and musicians.

International Beethoven Project

Programs emphasize sustainable living and immersion in nature; conserving 500+ acres (land trust, wilderness, natural burial)

At the heart of Narrow Ridge is our Earth literacy programs which emphasize: 1) immersion in nature as a deep reminder of who we are at the species level and as a means of nurturing a loving and reciprocal relationship between humans and the rest of the natural world, and 2) experiential learning in sustainable living as participants take up residence in a solar-powered lodge, engage in hands-on learning in the organic garden, assist on eco-building projects, and visit the eco-homes of members of the community land trust. Our programs promote a sense of wonder of and commitment to the natural world and community of life of which we are so privileged to be a part.

Narrow Ridge protects over 500 acres of rural Appalachian land. We demonstrate a variety of approaches to conservation including: our community land trusts**** where folks lease land from Narrow Ridge and agree to conservation restrictions, over 150 acres of wilderness that will never know human habitation, 10 acres of Natural Burial Preserve, and our recently initiated pollinator field and American Chestnut orchard.

The Armstrong Community Music School was founded on the principle that a high-quality music education should be available to everyone, regardless of circumstances. At ACMS you might see a small child attending an Early Childhood Music class while across the hall a grandparent goes to her first ever violin lesson. For 20 years, ACMS has provided Central Texans of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to express themselves through joyful music-making.

In conjunction with the excellent music instruction provided in-house, ACMS partners with local organizations to offer free programming for a wide variety of populations. Collectively these programs are known as the Harmony Initiative. Each program in the Harmony Initiative is designed by faculty and staff to meet the intellectual and situational needs of the communities they serve, positively impacting the lives of underserved populations with the power of music. All Harmony Initiative endeavors share the goal of supporting health and well-being and are tailored to the needs of their populations. Studies indicate that sharing their stories can help veterans cope with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and depression, and that arts engagement can aid in suicide prevention. Research has continued to show the developmental benefits of music education. Nevertheless, the decline in arts education is most drastic for underserved minorities. To enhance opportunities for marginalized people in the Bay Area, HipHopForChange Inc (HH4C) is reclaiming Hip Hop culture as a vehicle for education, empowerment, and cultural innovation. Out of displacement and neglect, inner-city neighborhoods birthed Hip Hop as an outlet for oppressed people to address socio-economic injustices and validate their experiences through music, artistic expression, and storytelling; however, this beautiful cultural art form has been co-opted. 

White Media has historically portrayed Black and Brown communities through skewed frames and stereotypes by centering gross misrepresentations of our experiences and humanity. These media giants have used consumer capitalism and colonization tools to dictate the tone, narratives, and mediums by which people of color can adequately and safely express themselves. This unethical cultural hijacking has usurped Hip Hop's artistry, innovation, and power, caricaturing the culture as hyper-violent and hyper-sexual, promoting criminality, toxic masculinity, and materialism.

We provide solutions through Hip Hop culture by implementing grassroots organizing, arts programming, and educational events to advance our mission. We work with state and local partners such as the City of Oakland, the California Arts Council, the Zellerbach Foundation, the Sierra Club, and others that recognize the importance of arts and culture in POC communities.

We advocate for systemic change rooted in our community, owning the means of our creative production, amplifying our voices, and taking back our narrative. We recognize the colonial systems that use white supremacy to maintain practices that undermine communities of color by denying access to the opportunities needed to secure self-determination and liberty. Our core values stand with diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our goal is to advocate for all marginalized communities, including POC, LGBTQAI, Indigenous/Tribes, Immigrants, disabled bodies, poverty-stricken, systems impacted, and others affected by colonialism in all its forms.

Mission: Through collaborative performance and lifelong learning opportunities, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain the skills and confidence to engage with the world.

ArtStream fuels students' imagination, creativity, and focus. We offer over 850 classes and workshops each year for 1,617 participants, six Theatre Companies totaling 90 participants and four Cabaret Companies totaling 30-40 participants, all of whom create and perform original theater works.

WHY ARTSTREAM?
People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities - including Autism - frequently face isolation or marginalization, and are excluded from activities and spaces where community, friendships, and connections are made. Creative opportunities are even fewer and farther between. In ArtStream’s drama and performing arts classes, workshops, and theatre companies, participants learn skills that apply to all aspects of life, including how to be present, pay attention, listen to instructions, participate in the activities that the class is doing that day, and perhaps most important of all, build friendships. 

Performance is transformative for every actor. This is also true for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, including Autism. Whether in classes, workshops, or rehearsals, ArtStreamers play theatrical games that require them to listen, to engage, to communicate, and to collaborate with each other; and improvisational games that teach them how to make eye contact, think on their feet, make connections, synthesize information, and solve problems. ArtStream’s demanding and very entertaining process encourages ArtStreamers to discover their creativity and strengths, and perform with confidence! What’s more, at ArtStream, our participants create their own scenes, dances, and songs for their performances, whereas most other theaters and non-profits serve people with disabilities by enacting or adapting plays or scenes written by professional playwrights. This is the “ArtStream difference.” 

A 55-year-old, 15-year ArtStream veteran expressed it better than we could ourselves: “I don’t get nervous on stage because I feel such happiness. I like to perform 24 hours a day! I love this place! ArtStream is making me happy!” 

ArtStream’s collaborative programming gives people with interest, talent, drive, and creativity – but few opportunities – a unique chance to build skills they will carry with them throughout their lifetimes. • Instruction from up to Ph.D. teachers 
• Performances at venues and festivals
• In-studio and home recording programs

Salt Lake Academy Of Music (SLAM)

Matagiri is dedicated to the vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and the international community of Auroville.

We are in the 150th year since Sri Aurobindo’s birth and doing our best to honor the sacred trust of maintaining and expanding the buildings and grounds of our Center.

Our residential team has worked on landscaping, hosted live concerts and continued our online study circles.

We hold weekly hatha yoga classes and Pilates mat classes and special Darshan gatherings.

We maintain a library of over 1200 titles and a bookstore, gallery and boutique with handcrafted gifts from the international community of Auroville. Our gallery features the paintings of Matagiri founder, Sam Spanier. Open by appointment.
