**Ayala Foundation Disaster Campaign**

The Philippines faces severe challenges in disaster preparedness and response, as evidenced by multiple indicators:

- Ranks first among 193 countries in disaster risk with an index of 46.82% (World Risk Report 2022)
- Experiences an average of 20 tropical cyclones annually, affecting approximately 20 million people (UNDRR Global Assessment Report 2022)
- 60% of the total land area is exposed to multiple hazards, and 74% of the population is susceptible to their impact (NDRRMC Strategic Plan 2020-2040)

Among the Foundation's major programs is the provision of relief operations and strengthening disaster resilience to affected communities. A donation of:

- US$20 will provide rice, noodles, canned goods, and biscuits for a family of 5 for 3 days
- US$50 can cover the cost of roofing materials for damaged structures
- US$100 can fund rehabilitation works for schools in disaster hit areas

Shri Sant Singaji Educational Society (SSES) empowers rural youth, especially rural girls, in Sandalpur.

History and Mission

Rural youth is a vast pool of untapped potential. Sadly, bright girls are made to sit at home, after school, due to rampant gender discrimination. Lack of awareness, prevailing social norms, etc. act as major deterrents to access of GIRLS to higher education. In a 70-km radius of Sandalpur, the number of students passing 12th Standard exceeds 8,000 annually. After that 33% (ASAR REPORT) of student dropped their education, and they do not enroll in their higher education.



Rural India is devoid of quality educational institutions and good teachers. Affluent rural youth go to nearby cities for education. Unable to cope with the medium (English) and the lifestyle, they return to their villages to join the ranks of unemployed youth, often getting into illegal activities. SSISM seeks to address this problem.



Sant Singaji Educational Society (SSES) was established in 2010, to create social and economic transformation in one of the most backward areas of the country, i.e. Sandalpur, District Dewas Madhya Pradesh (Gondwana area of Madhya Pradesh). 



The institute was founded by Mr. Pranjal Dubey, who left a high-profile job as a project manager at SAP Labs in Bangalore to address the pressing issue of inadequate education facilities in his native village, Sandalpur. His mission was to uplift local youth from poverty through education. 



SSES aims to be the leading rural educational organization dedicated to imparting skill-based training that empowers youth to become self-reliant, socially responsible, and employable. The society’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for young people, fostering their growth as individuals and contributing to the overall development of their communities. Under this project, the organization is providing free education to 150 needy students every year. By fostering a supportive atmosphere through resources, mentorship, and community engagement, the project innovatively tackles the root cause of limited opportunities with a focus on enhancing employability, empowering individuals and contributing to the overall economic development of rural areas, making it a comprehensive and impactful initiative.  

Goals and Target Population:

SSES is dedicated to transforming the lives of rural youth in the Dewas, Sehore, and Harda districts of Madhya Pradesh. Its primary focus is on providing education and skill-based training to students aged 17 to 21 who have passed their 12th-grade exams. These young individuals represent a vast, untapped pool of potential that, when harnessed, can drive significant social and economic progress in their communities.

The institution's overarching Management aims to address the specific needs of rural communities by bridging educational gaps and empowering rural youth with practical skills essential for their personal and professional growth. The institute's measurable project objectives include expanding access to quality education by enrolling 15,000 students by 2030 and transforming the area into a "Singaji Educational Village." It seeks to enhance employability through a curriculum focused on Information Technology, Management, and Biotechnology, to equip 90% of students with practical skills that align with industry demands. 

Challenges Faced by Rural Youth:

Rural youth face numerous obstacles that hinder their access to higher education and employment opportunities. In the Sandalpur region alone, more than 8,000 students pass the 12th standard each year, yet the area lacks quality educational institutions and skilled teachers. After that 33% (ASAR REPORT) of student dropped their education, and they do not enroll in their higher education. Many affluent rural students who seek education in nearby cities struggle with the English medium and urban lifestyle, often returning to their villages and joining the ranks of the unemployed. This situation is compounded by gender discrimination, with many bright girls being made to stay home after school, unable to pursue further education due to societal expectations.

Without access to quality education, these youths are left vulnerable to unemployment and the lure of illegal activities, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities. SSES seeks to address these challenges by providing a structured, phased approach to education and skill development that prepares students for the professional world.

Past and Current Activities:

To bring about the socio-economic transformation of rural society by imparting high-quality holistic education to rural youth, we have adopted three programs which are ITEG (Information Technology Excellence Group), BEG (Bio Excellence Group), and MEG (Management Excellence Group). 



In three programs, we follow a three-level certification process where students go through various skill development and certification.  In the above-mentioned process, we enhance Academic quality education about the subject, which is prescribed by the university. In practical skills training the students get the knowledge of delivering content by using practical aspects and soft skills. Technical training, here students get technical training like- developing programs, designing websites, etc. which is required for companies. 

 

 When students complete the above training modulation, we provide them with future options in 3 ways:



	Post-Graduation- we prepare students and motivate them to do their post-graduation at Azim Premji University, IIM, Chennai Business School, etc.  



	EMPLOYMENT- For students who want to do a job after their graduation and be able to be financially independent we train them for IT companies and make sure they get jobs in reputed companies, such as Wipro, HSBC, TCS, CAP GEMINI.  



	Entrepreneurship- A Few Students express their interest in entrepreneurship. we encourage such students to get proper training with the help of some NGOs who train the students like Udhyam Learning Foundation, Karya NGO, etc. 



We have 5 IT companies working on the campus, which are:

Singaji software solution,  AWNS, Finezza, Trilliant Digital, and Tofrum 



Future Planned Activities

SSES is committed to expanding its impact in the coming years, with plans to enhance its educational programs and develop new initiatives that address the evolving needs of rural youth. 

1. Expanding Reach and Accessibility: SSES aims to increase its outreach to more rural areas, ensuring that students who are currently unable to access quality education have the opportunity to benefit from its programs. 

2. Industry Partnerships and Internship Programs: To better prepare students for the job market, SSES plans to establish partnerships with various industries, creating internship opportunities that provide hands-on experience. These collaborations will help students gain practical skills and enhance their employability.

3. Skill Development for Emerging Industries: As industries evolve, so too must the skills that SSES imparts to its students. The society is working to develop training modules in emerging fields such as digital marketing, data analysis, and renewable energy, ensuring that students are equipped with skills relevant to the current job market.

4. Entrepreneurship Development Programs: To foster self-employment and innovation, SSES plans to introduce entrepreneurship training programs that guide students in starting their businesses. This will include mentoring, access to resources, and support in developing business plans, helping students become job creators rather than job seekers.

5. Alumni Network and Mentorship: SSES is developing an alumni network to connect current students with past graduates who have successfully navigated higher education and the job market. This mentorship program will provide guidance, inspiration, and practical advice, creating a supportive community that extends beyond the classroom.

Tokyo University of the Arts, a national comprehensive art university,  was established in 1949 through the merger of two institutions, Tokyo Fine Arts School and Tokyo Music School, both founded in 1887. At its inception, the university consisted of ten departments across two faculties: the Faculty of Fine Arts (comprising the Departments of Painting, Sculpture, Crafts, Architecture, and Aesthetics and Art History) and the Faculty of Music (comprising the Departments of Composition, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Conducting, and Musicology). It also included the University Library.



Over the years, the faculties have expanded and undergone reorganization, leading to the current structure of 14 departments across two faculties. The European Review of Books is a magazine of culture and ideas, in print and online, in English and in a writer’s own tongue. We publish book-length issues three times a year, next to digital-only and newsletter-only pieces. In our pages, you’ll find many kinds of writing: travelogue, fiction, profile, parody, poem, come what may. But we champion the essay, because a good essay is the enemy of the airy platitude, the antidote to the measly « opinion ». We’re tired of opinion; Our mission is to thicken the Europe an intellectual atmosphere.

In the spring of 2021, we launched a crowdfunding campaign with future contributors like Ali Smith, Adania Shibli, David Mitchell, and Rem Koolhaas helping to spread the word. We raised a spectacular €94.000 from 852 supporters. With those funds, we commissioned early contributors, created our first issue and built our online platform. Issue One appeared in June 2022, and the print edition (3800 copies) soon sold out.

Soon after, Studio Europa Maastricht became our founding partner, supporting us with a total of €120.000 paid out over three years. This allowed us to start thinking properly about a future for our endeavor. In December of 2022, funding partner Stichting Democratie en Media made a donation of €90.000, and offers continuing organizational support. Issue Two launched in early January of 2023, Issue Three in late April of that same year, and Issue Four in November. ERBs are sold in more than 250 shops in 19 different countries around the world, and in our webshop.

In our first year and a half, we produced important, pathbreaking work by 90+ (paid) contributors with ties to 20+ countries. We continue to build a robust international network of writers, translators, thinkers and readers. With the ERB, we want to create an enduring, independent institution for the European cultural and intellectual sphere – there is a need for it, and an audience. Our venture was covered in Italy (Il Foglio, Corriere della Sera), in Belgium (De Standaard), in Spain (El Confidencial), in the Netherlands (NRC, Trouw), in Ireland (Irish Times), in the UK (Financial Times), in Germany (Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine, Die Welt), in France (Le Monde, Le Grand Continent), in Austria (Die Presse), in the US (n+1) and more. We’ve won three awards so far – two for our design, and one for our writing.

We aim to become a financially sustainable organization within four years, and we project we'll reach that point with about 3500 subscribers, supplemented with income from issue sales and other revenue streams. We need financial help to tide us over to that point: during those years, we need to keep paying our contributors reasonable fees and launch serious marketing efforts to reach a bigger audience. But we also need to explore ways to make our content more accessible (through audio, for example) and to diversify our revenue streams (by publishing books, selling exclusive merchandise, expanding our writing programs for universities) that would secure our sustainability and independence in the future.

Room to Read envisions a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality through its evidence-driven programs.

Room to Read is a leader in gender education around the globe. With nearly 25 years of experience, Room to Reach has reached more than 325,000 girls in 10 countries through its impactful Girls’ Education Program, which is one of the world’s longest and most comprehensive programs dedicated to girls’ education and gender equality.  

Globally, 97% of girls benefiting from Room to Read's Girls’ Education Program successfully advance to the next grade level, and 96% graduate secondary school. Five years after the program, 79% of graduates are either employed or enrolled in higher education.

Room to Read’s tried-and-true program builds girls’ skills while helping entire communities understand and support gender equality education. By providing life skills lessons, one-on-one and group mentoring, family and community engagement, inspiring multimedia, and more for the girls who need it the most, Room to Read is contributing to meaningful generational change.  

By the end of 2027, we aim to:

- Double the number of active children benefiting from Room to Read’s materials and approaches. 
- Double the number of communities benefiting from Room to Read’s materials and approaches. 
- Increase new countries benefiting from Room to Read’s materials and approaches.
- Increase the number of educators and creatives with capacity to improve children’s foundational learning outcomes.

Dhody Research Institute examines medical history to address health challenges and fosters curiosity through education.

The Dhody Research Institute (DRI) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to scientific and museological research,  consultation, and education. Through partnerships with historic, scientific or medical institutions, DRI conducts  research with historical medical collections to improve  21st –century human health. The Institute also provides consultation to institutions and researchers who seek to create museums or exhibitions with a medical historical dimension or maintain their collections of anatomical/pathological anatomy. The DRI also engages in accessible science communication through various social media channels to promote STEM engagement, encourage careers in STEM fields, and engage in science dialog with our wide audience.

We are a non-profit organization EMPOWERING villages around the world to end the cycle of poverty through EDUCATION.
Education plays a big role in the development of a community and BUILDING a library is just the first step towards creating a space dedicated to LEARNING.
We call this HOPE through books. 

We couldn’t do this without the incredible partners and donors that continue to empower youth and change lives. One of the aspects of Village Book Builders is our mentor program.  In this program we help people bring social responsibility in-house by connecting volunteers, students, and working professionals to serve as mentors to the children in developing communities all over the globe. The Société Paul Cezanne—founded in 1998 by the artist's great-grandson, Philippe Cezanne, as a tribute to art historian, John Rewald, author of the artist's catalogue raisonne, first published in 1996—is dedicated to:

- promoting and preserving the work of Paul Cezanne and the sites he painted in and around his native Aix-en-Provence, 
- maintaining the revised online catalogue raisonne, available to all for free at www.cezannecatalogue.com.

With the renovation of Cezanne's family home in Aix, the Jas de Bouffan, the Société is now seeking partners to help fund the creation of a new research center devoted to the artist, Le Centre Cezannien de Recherche et de Documentation, which will open in Summer 2025. 

2025 is the year of Cezanne throughout Aix—from a major monographic exhibition at the Musee Granet to city-wide events, programs, and scholarly convenings, this year will mark a new chapter in the artist's ever-growing impact on people around the world. 

In september 2025, "Odyssée Cezanne" a symposium with leading Cezanne specialists is as well open to subscription. 2 days of immersion in Paul Cezanne's restored family bastide, an opportunity to get a closer look to the Grand Salon where a wall painted by Cezanne as a young artist was discovered in august 2023!

These coordinated efforts, across academic and general audiences, will ensure Cezanne's legacy for generations to come, in all corners of the globe.

About the Foundation

Fondazione Querini Stampalia (FQS)  was established in 1869 by Count Giovanni Querini, the last descendant of the Querini Stampalia family.
It is the only institution in Venice that holds the entire heritage of an ancient and noble Venetian family. It has been serving the community and providing access to knowledge, arts, architecture and history for more than 150 years, in particular thanks to the Library, the Museum and cultural events.

The library has become a study centre open at weekends and during many holidays to give students and scholars the opportunity to access the collections and to study in the historical reading rooms.  
The Fondazione is also very active in the field of contemporary art through the project  Conserving the future, that hosted contemporary artists such as Joseph Kosuth, Kiki Smith and Jimmie Durham.  
Finally, the palace itself hosts different architectural layers, where the 16th century building is renovated and reinterpreted through the profound and elegant work of important contemporary architects such as Carlo Scarpa, Mario Botta and Michele De Lucchi.

Read/Write Library is the only library of its kind in the world and seeks to be a model for other cities to leverage their own media as a tool to recognize their residents' power and expertise in shaping local histories.

Unlike a traditional read-only library, we encourage contributions, whether community newspapers, self-published chapbooks by young poets, or art books by tenured professors, making cultural participation more transparent and accessible. 

Through our public programs and free browsing hours, growing collection of over 6,000 publications, and open source catalog, the library strives to raise the visibility of work produced by Chicagoans of all backgrounds to reveal connective threads across neighborhoods, generations, and cultures and to encourage inquiry into and ownership of the historical record. 

We recognize the contributions that all community members make to co-creating a city and believe that learning to value them plays a vital role in building empathy, community pride, and the ability to see oneself as a change agent.

The Elikya Foundation is a social impact nonprofit organization based in Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa on a journey of igniting hope and fueling dreams in some of the most underpriviledged communities in Africa. Our Journey started with the belief that in the midst of the enormous challenges around us there was surely something we could do to help at least a child.

We envision communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and prosper. We are on the mission to ignite hope and fuel dreams for brighter futures in underprivileged communities across Africa.

Through our Back to School program, the Elikya Foundation aims to support children from underprivileged communities by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in school. Through generous donations and partnerships, we aim to make a lasting impact on their education and future prospects. Our program focuses on three key elements: access, resources, and motivation. Firstly, we strive to increase access to education for these children by partnering with local schools, community centers, and NGOs. We want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to attend school and benefit from quality education.

In line with our mission of igniting hope and fueling dreams for brighter futures in underprivileged communities across Africa, we developped the Inua ‘Empower’ program. The program aims to empower women and youths from underprivileged communities with skills and knowledge to lift themselves out of poverty and become active agents of change in their lives, their households, and their communities.

Did you know there's more than 1 million books in the Joburg CBD. Let's celebrate that.

Johannesburg, better known as Jozi or Joburg, is best showcased by the vibrant city centre at its heart. The area that residents refer to as “Town” is set apart by the combined bustling of hawkers, cross-continental traders, and white-collar office workers alike.

Between busy public transportation routes and the overall air of Afropolitan excellence, Town has something for everyone. This diverse and energetic part of the city is a prime showcase of the literary and artistic wonders that Joburg has to offer.

The Literary District runs on community support. We send thousands of books, new and used, for free to libraries across South Africa every year. We also work with community organisations that have literacy outreach programmes and donate books to their causes.

With more than 1 million books in the City Library and dozens of booksellers in the nearby blocks, our literary culture flows through the streets. We’re working with the Johannesburg Development Agency through its Our City, Our Block programme to highlight and expand this reading culture.
 
To start, that means keeping our streets clean. With the help of a grant from the Social Employment Fund, we have hired cleaners to help us keep the district looking refreshed.

Dozens of booksellers sell their wares in the LitDistrict. These booksellers provide easy access to books to the thousands of people in the city centre. We have fostered a relationship with these underground sellers, connecting them with publishers so that they can continue to provide the community with new books. We are working together as a neighbourhood to foster more of a reading culture that we hope will spread from our home to many others.

We are in the process of adopting the park that lies at the centre of the LitDistrict. The Library Gardens stretch out from the city library and is a popular gathering point for the community. We hope to turn this park into a literary hub by cleaning it up and filling it with books that are completely free to borrow and read.

We have adopted two outdoor township libraries – one in Alexandra and another in Soweto. We stock these libraries every month to ensure that these communities have access to an ever-changing and ever-growing selection of books. We plan to build more of these throughout Joburg, starting with Library Gardens.

With grants from the city’s Department of Community Development, we workshopped six storybooks in local languages. Three of these stories were accepted by Nal’ibali for translation into all 11 languages with free distribution, thanks to a grant from the Cadbury #InOurOwnWords campaign. We have also worked on getting stories to print that have, up until now, only existed in oral tradition. In doing this, we hope to share South African stories further across the globe. 

Many South African books that would now be considered classics seem to have disappeared. Some were banned and never reprinted after the end of Apartheid, and others simply fell out the public consciousness but are taking on new resonance now. 

We have been working to publish new editions of such classics so that these stories can re-enter circulation.  We have reprinted a duology of H.I.E. Dhlomo’s ‘The Girl Who Killed to Save’ and ‘Valley of a Thousand Hills’. Dhlomo is a founding figure of South African literature whose work has become hard to come across – something that we are working to change. 

We host publishing workshops to help break down some of the barriers between writers’ ideas and books going to print. We also sell books from independent authors on consignment, helping their words reach readers.

We host Storytime Saturday every week, either at Bridge Books or around the corner at Ernest Oppenheimer Park. With this initiative, we hope to revitalise the art of oral narrative, and to give children a fun and enriching activity on the weekend. Our readers bring stories to life in all South African languages, depending on the week’s audience. We want the kids in the neighbourhood to know that kids like them can be on the covers of books, too.

We also work in collaboration with the Alliance Française. With monthly storytelling events, we support their mission of bringing South African cultures to French expats living in Joburg, encouraging them to introduce their children to more South African stories. Plenty of local children from our area come to listen, too, and to join in on the djembe drum circle. 

The LitDistrict is a part of the Johannesburg Inner City Walkable Network, which links neighbourhoods throughout the CBD to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for locals and visitors.
 
 In the LitDistrict, we are working to create a neighbourhood identity based on literature and community. Local kids stop by on their way home from school to do their homework and read together and young professionals hunker down together over coffee at Bridge Books. 
 
All in all, we want our home to feel more like a home – art on the walls, places to come together, books in hands.

Relaunched in 1979, *Granta* publishes new work from established writers alongside unknown and emerging voices, including work in translation. Each edition of the magazine features a mix of fiction, reportage, memoir, poetry and photography. In its early years, *Granta* served as a critical go-between for transatlantic literary culture in a time before the internet allowed English and American writers to readily compare notes on literary developments. Today *Granta* – with a much wider, global readership – fulfils a more central mission for the literary world: it exhibits the writing of the future, much of which finds its way into book form years later.**** 

*Granta* publishes, on average, some eighty writers a year in print, and one-hundred-and-sixty in its online edition. In 2023, thirty of them were new talents, or new to an English-speaking audience. We feature at least two photo essays per issue, with many more appearing on Granta.com. The editorial team’s close collaboration with translators ensures that *Granta* enjoys a wide geographical reach. *Granta* takes pride in working with writers and photographers from all backgrounds and communities. Writing rarely provides a stable income, which makes it difficult for writers without sufficient means to develop their craft and establish important connections. *Granta* has a long history of finding and publishing under-represented voices, and providing young writers with a platform where they can be discovered by agents, publishers, and, most importantly, readers. 

Past contributors whose careers have been developed by the magazine include Kazuo Ishiguro, Richard Ford, Arundhati Roy, Salman Rushdie, Zadie Smith, Sally Rooney, Svetlana Alexievich and Binyavanga Wainaina, among many others. Our ‘Best of Young’ issues, released decade by decade, introduce the most important voices of each generation – in Britain, America, Brazil and Spain – and define the contours of the literary landscape. 

In 2023, as part of *Granta*’s mission to support new writers, we started a programme of writing workshops with our education partners, Professional Writing Academy. The Granta Writers’ Workshops are designed to help writers to improve their technical skills in a supportive and stimulating environment. Bursary-funded places are available on each course for those in financial need – so far, 40 per cent of the awards have gone to writers with a disability, and 60 per cent of the recipients are from the Global South. The courses are oversubscribed, and places are awarded on a competitive basis to writers showing exceptional promise. 

Part of the success of the magazine is reflected by the fact that writers first** published in *Granta* frequently go on to win prizes – in the past year alone contributions to *Granta* have won, or been shortlisted, for the O. Henry Prize, the BBC National Short Story Prize, the Forward Prize, and the Best of the Net prize. This year’s contributors to the magazine have won or been nominated for the Nobel Prize, the Booker Prize, the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, the RSL Ondaatje Prize, the Rathbones Folio Prize, and the Gordon Burn Prize. 

The magazine currently has a circulation of 23,000. We produce a regular, critically-acclaimed podcast, while Granta.com, our online platform, records more than 350,000 pageviews monthly. In addition to reaching a worldwide audience directly, we also offer institutional subscriptions, which give students across the globe access to our archive. The physical archive of *Granta*, which includes valuable editorial correspondence with our writers, is held by the British Library. 

Few literary magazines are able to thrive without external funding. The income from our endowment and from subscriptions, advertising and courses cover only a part of our costs. Without the generosity of individuals and organisations such as the Ford Foundation and the British Council, *Granta* would be unable to fulfil its mission of being the leading literary quarterly in the English-speaking world.

The Fondation pour le musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (Pro mahJ), in Paris, was created in 2003 on the initiative of Claire Maratier, daughter of painter Michel Kikoïne (1892-1968), to promote the work of artists from the École de Paris and mobilize its resources in support of the mahJ. As an essential supporter of the enrichment of the mahJ's collections and the promotion of its heritage and activities, the foundation is committed to supporting contemporary artists whose work is rooted in the École de Paris and resonates with the mahJ's collections.
Your support will help preserve one of the finest collections of works of art and objects illustrating the heritage of Jewish culture in Europe and around the Mediterranean, from Antiquity to the present day, preserved and hosted by the musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (mahJ), as well as strengthening the museum's activities, particularly its educational initiatives. The mahJ is France's largest museum devoted to Jewish art and culture, and a place of reference for education, promoting cultural diversity and combating prejudice and discrimination, for people from all walks of life.

EACHEVE was founded in 2014 to address concerns about the fragility of artistic memory within Ecuador, with the original goal being the production of editorial publications with archival purpose – to record the thoughts, activities, and movement of contemporary artists in Ecuador. EACHEVE has since published a series of publications, including several important monographs, catalogues and books including Eduardo Solá Franco’s Illustrated Diaries, an artist’s book by Roberto Noboa, 101 Contemporary Art Ecuador Vol. I and the recent publication of the artist ‘Miguel Varea’

Further motivated to stimulate the growth and development of Ecuador’s art world, EACHEVE has expanded its mission to organize several exhibitions, such as ‘ Algo Después’ by Ilich Castillo (Bogotá, 2016), ‘ Objetos de duda y de certeza’ by Manuela Ribadeneira (Quito, 2019), ‘Wonder Boy Complex’ by Xavier Coronel (Quito, 2021), ‘Mantengo la Urgencia de Reconciliar’ by Sofía Salazar Rosales (Guayaquil, 2022), and ‘La visión del monte’ by Simon Speiser (Guayaquil, 2023).

In 2021, EACHEVE becomes a non-profit foundation and entered partnerships with other leading arts organizations around the world, including Delfina Foundation (London), Gasworks (London), Tropical Papers (France) and DEO Projects (Greece) with the goal of promoting Ecuadorian art internationally and nourishing the current mission of the foundation: to create new opportunities for Ecuadorian artists.

Our mission is to research/document for the production of radical works and to strengthen the contemporary comics field.

Since its establishment on June 21, 2017, the non-profit organization Echo Chamber has been committed to promoting and encouraging activities related to the research and production of new forms of comic books within the French Community. In addition to its roles in the development and integration of new technologies in comic book craftsmanship, the digitization of printed collections, and consultancy work in the fields of art and technology, the non-profit organizes various activities (publications, workshops, artist talks, and now a residency program) aimed specifically at promoting contemporary research in the field of experimental publishing. Created within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Echo Chamber represents a unique model in the sector of comic books and graphic literature. Unlike most independent comic book publishers in the Francophone world that promote pictorial experimentation, Echo Chamber has taken a distinctive approach, creating intersections between comic books and scientific research, technology, and the arts. As evidenced by its ambitious program and the breadth of unconventional collaborations in the fields of artistic research, disability, computer laboratories, social justice, and community outreach, this unique approach has transformed the comic book medium into a Petri dish for exploring broader ideas in politics, technology, and ethics.



1. Digital Archives.

Echo Chamber encourages exploring comics beyond narrow media boundaries, disciplinary conceptions, and dominant historical perspectives. One notable project is a digital collection of conceptual comics for Ubuweb and Monoskop virtual libraries. This collection, featuring over 100 fully digitized printed works, documents recent radical experimentation and demonstrates how contemporary comic artists are informed by a heightened awareness of the medium's possibilities. By leveraging an expanding network and digital technologies, these artists can influence the socio-economic backdrop of the comic book industry through their books and publications.



2. Public Program

"Futures of Comics" is an international artistic research program featuring over 50 conferences held from 2019-2023, with international guests from the Global South (India, Argentina, Slovakia, Turkey, Morocco, Afghanistan, Colombia, Serbia, Australia, South Korea, Ecuador). It aims to document and reflect on contemporary artistic practices, establish a platform for comic artists who use comics as a knowledge production tool, and map social, economic, and gender forces shaping the industry. After events in Switzerland and Italy, Echo Chamber, funded by WBI & Pro Helvetia, initiated a "Futures of Comics" project in Latin America.



3. Creative Europe

Early this year, Echo Chamber won a Creative Europe grant for a two-year expanded publishing (EP) research project. Partnering with the Institute of Network Cultures/University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), NERO Editions (Italy), and Aksioma (Slovenia), the project explores publishing practices beyond traditional formats and technologies. Known by various terms like multimedia or hybrid publishing, EP aims for more inclusive publication methods. It broadens expression through inter-format connections, reader involvement, open-source tools, metadata integration, and experimenting with non-publishable arts (e.g., exhibitions, conferences).



4. Frontier technologies

Echo Chamber explores the potential impact of AI technologies on comics, historically a testing ground for global entertainment industries. They have developed the first fully AI-created comic books, referred to as "synthetic comics." These comics are generated, modified, or highly automated through machine learning, using large indexed datasets. Computation is fundamental to their production, enabling new intersubjective experiences. Echo Chamber leverages a vast ontological reservoir of non-photographic images, enriched with metadata, and combines them with generative and computational capabilities afforded by the abundance of online media.



5. Comics and Disabilities

Echo Chamber supports the Shapereader project, a tactile storytelling system with ideograms designed for visually impaired comic readers/creators. Promoting a bodily, non-retinal graphic experience, Shapereader uses tactility to synthesize narrative elements. This unique transdisciplinary project involves various experts and contexts, from comic industries and contemporary art museums to literary festivals, disability fairs, and worker cooperatives. Shapereader's tactile scores are also used in contemporary music and performance. The project has been showcased in France, Spain, the US, Dubai, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, and Belgium, collaborating with numerous cultural institutions.



6. Comics and Scientific Research

Echo Chamber supports the interdisciplinary study of comics, aiming to advance theoretical and textual maturity in comic research. Recently, they published "Critical Approaches to Conceptual Comics" (ed. Pedro Moura) with Routledge, aided by FWB, with a French adaptation underway in collaboration with ACME (University of Liège) and La 5e Couche. In partnership with De Gruyter, the University of Liège, KU Leuven, and Professor Benoît Crucifix, Echo Chamber is preparing a critical anthology on integrating computational processes in synthetic comic production. These publications aim to enhance understanding of discursive forms and styles in comics, fostering innovation for artists outside mainstream commercial circuits.

THE MISSION
The mission of Eagle Ridge Christian School is to provide a quality Christian education based upon the Word of God in an environment where students can achieve maximum success academically, spiritually, and physically in the pursuit of God’s call and purpose in their lives.  

HISTORY 
Eagle Ridge Christian School, Inc. (Eagle Ridge) has a long history of success as a major Christian Educator in Southeast Missouri.  The school was founded in 1982, under the direction of Dr. Mark Carbaugh, and has seen over forty years of success in graduating hundreds of students into successful lives and careers.  

The school has grown from three teachers serving 32 elementary children to a student population of over 220 students and 40 full and part-time staff serving 6-week-old infant care through twelfth grade. 

In 1996, Eagle Ridge graduated its charter class. The next month, Eagle Ridge was incorporated as a separate entity from the church as a 501(c)(3) organization on December 22, 1997. 

In June of that same year, a 30,000-square-foot facility was built on twenty acres to house both the school and Rock of Cape Church.  They have since continued sharing space in this same facility.   
 
In the fall of 1998, the school added a 2 and 3-year-old preschool program, as well as, a before and after-care program. In 1999, Eagle Ridge began offering food service including breakfast, lunch, and an afterschool snack.

In 1998, Eagle Ridge Christian School began accreditation with the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA) receiving full accreditation in 2000. Eagle Ridge applied for and received accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) in 2001.  Today, Eagle Ridge maintains accreditation through the International Christian Accreditation Association (ICAA) and Cognia.

Cognia is the parent organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).  
 
The school continues to enjoy a growing, interscholastic athletics program through Missouri Christian School Athletic Association (MCSAA), and as an affiliate member of the Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA).  This enables the school to compete with Christian and public schools nationwide.

THE NEED
We have never seen such a demand in all the forty years of the school’s existence as we are seeing now. Calls continue to come in for students, but there is not always space to accommodate the requests. We have come to a place in time where the need is great for the school and we must expand to accommodate the needs of the community.   

As Eagle Ridge has flourished in response to demand in our community, we have outgrown our current building.  The church and school presently occupy a 30,000-square-foot building, where both entities share space.  The requirements of the school have forced the Church to occupy less and less space with each passing school year.  Each year the church has given up more space to accommodate the school’s need for more classroom space. 

We believe this to be an opportune time for the school to begin moving forward with a new campus to meet all the needs of this growing ministry.  

A new campus will provide tremendous opportunities for the school to significantly grow in all areas.  Our preschool would immediately add over 100 students to our enrollment, who are presently on a waiting list.  This alone would increase the school’s annual income by $500,000 to the operating budget and provide additional jobs for many families.  

We have a vision to serve more people in our school.  To reach that potential, we must increase the size of our campus and facilities.

NEW CAMPUS VISION
The school has an opportunity to purchase 125 acres of land. This will allow us to build a 65,000 square feet facility that will allow us to fully educate, train, and equip our students’ mind, body and spirit.

The expansion will accommodate growth to more than 450 students, more than doubling our present enrollment.  In addition, the new school building will also accommodate 100+ children on the waiting list in pre-school.

ESTIMATED COSTS
The leaders of the school have now begun a capital campaign to purchase land nearby its present location to build a new school building and campus.

This Capital Campaign’s goal is $18.75 million.  This would include the 125 acre land purchase and construction costs for the new 65,000-square-foot campus.

Eagle Ridge Christian School, Inc., is identified as a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) under the Internal Revenue Service and is registered with the State of Missouri.  The Determination is on file and can be requested.

SJPLF provides advocacy, financial support, and leadership to our public libraries and educational programs throughout San Jose.

At the heart of our community, libraries provide a place where everyone can learn, create, study and explore. Mrs. Ruth Kampa – a former librarian and President of the Library Commission — embraced this with her strong passion for the Library. In 1987, Ruth had the foresight to setup the San José Public Library Foundation (SJPLF) so that the Library could receive more than just public funding. In 1992, Ruth passed away and because of her bequest the Foundation was able to hire its first paid staff member. According to the original board members, “that was the tipping point that really put the Foundation in business.” The Foundation has changed and grown over the years but Ruth’s legacy to raise funds for our San José libraries still continues today.

Using art as a vehicle for social change, while connecting the shared history, values and futures of Africa and its Diaspora!

The experiences and cultural contributions of people of African descent have been marginalized throughout history and MoCADA’s mission is to undertake the responsibility of rewriting that history in order to give a more accurate portrayal of the contributions of people of African descent to the artistic and global landscape.

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) uplifts the visual, literary, and performing arts as a conduit that connects the shared history, values, and futures of Africa and its diaspora, for the purpose of advancing dialogue on pressing social + political issues faced by these communities. We give platform within our safe spaces to artists whose work honor, celebrate, and expand this rich conversation while inviting our community in to explore, engage, and thrive within our collective evolution.

For 20 years, MoCADA has empowered vulnerable communities and instilled a sense of pride in visitors through representation and access to the arts including 100+ groundbreaking artists from 20+ countries (Terence Nance, Dread Scott, Wangechi Mutu, etc) whose voices have gone largely ignored; to Black, LatinX, Indigenous, especially, low income, children, women, immigrants, elders, LGBTQ+, people living with disabilities etc from the communities of Central Brooklyn and beyond.

We've been providing free classes in literacy, English, Math, and health to ~150 underserved youth annually for the past 3 years and need your support to continue to serve.

The Moz Library Project operates the first and only public library in a small village in Africa.

Learning how to read and write can change lives. In Mozambique, 47% of the population over 15 years old are unable to read and write. Literacy equips individuals with the ability to access information and engage in critical thinking. Furthermore, literate individuals are more likely to secure better job opportunities, leading to improved economic prospects and poverty reduction. Education also enhances public health awareness, enabling individuals to make health-informed decisions.

Courtney Johnson was a Peace Corps volunteer from 2015-2017 and worked as a teacher in Ile, Mozambique. Illiteracy was a known problem but there was an acute lack of resources that prevented the existing institutions from tackling this issue. Some of her students who knew the material verbally, turned in tests with only strings of letters and consonants. In 2015, Courtney began to work with the local government to develop a program that would work alongside the existing education system providing supplemental literacy education to close this achievement gap.

The Library is run by local staff providing employment opportunities to 3 full time and 10 part time staff members.

The 4 Pillars
1) SAFE & HYGENIC SPACE: The Moz Library was built from scratch from 2015 to 2017. The library has to electricity providing the ability to study safely after dark. The library has access to clean water and hygienic indoor & outdoor bathrooms. 
2) PUBLIC RESOURCES: Free and Public access to resources including books, pencils, paper, electricity, and computers.  
3) FREE EDUCATION: The Moz Library offers Free and Public lessons in literacy, English and Math using a simple, replicable, and interactive literacy curriculum that serves a diversity of learning styles and individualized attention. 
4) HEALTH: The Library leverages opportunities to disseminate public health information through classes, murals, and public theater.

The library is in Mozambique, a country which sits on the southeast coastline of Africa sharing a boarder with South Africa to the south and Tanzania to the north. Ile is a medium-small town with a population of approximately 15,000 people. Ile has 5 elementary schools, 1 high school, a soccer field, a hospital, several stores, and an open-air market. The coordinates of the library are 16"02"15"S and 37"10"35"E.

The library is situated in museum Embassy of the Free Mind in the House with the Heads (Keizersgracht 123) in Amsterdam and is a non profit organisation.

JustMedia is an open-access online platform that catalogs, preserves, and centralizes media content related to criminal justice.

JustMedia prioritizes the leadership of people directly impacted by the criminal justice system, including incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and their communities, and people who are excluded from the political, economic, and social institutions that shape their lives. Given the stark racial disparity in mass incarceration, JustMedia’s staff and Board are largely comprised of people of color. In more broadly considering people who have been excluded from the political, economic, and social institutions that shape their lives, we intentionally consider race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, and agency in making decisions around Board development and staff hiring. JustMedia has already cultivated an intersectional community and expects to hire new staff members from our community through competitive processes with a view toward equity. JustMedia has maintained partnerships, developed media literacy focused curriculum, facilitated workshops, and sustained relationships with those utilizing our database and resources.

Throughout the last year, we were able to grow our archive database from 719 films on our to 1,264 films. Additionally, we have created several resource videos that serve as navigation tools for visitors as they are researching our database. We have been able to train lawyers, advocates, educators, and filmmakers on how to use our archive using these videos and presentations.

The International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH)

In response to the massive destruction of cultural heritage, the world has decided to come together.  Created in 2017, ALIPH is the only global fund that is solely dedicated to the protection of cultural heritage in conflict areas. ALIPH is a unique international cooperation initiative designed to meet the challenge of protecting cultural heritage in conflict areas.  To carry out this mission, the foundation finances preventive measures, emergency interventions and concrete post-conflict rehabilitation projects, all around the world. ALIPH's three areas of intervention are:

 emergency  measures to ensure the security of heritage,  
	 
 post-conflict  actions to enable local populations to once again enjoy their cultural heritage.

Newport Public Library brings together people, ideas, and information for the good of every individual and the community it serves

Newport Public Library is located in eastern Perry County PA. Our formal service area is almost 10,000 people. We also freely serve folks from the surrounding townships and counties, as well.

Within our beautiful building we house our growing and diverse collection of physical items- books, audiobooks on CD, DVDs, magazines, and music CDs. In our online collection we provide downloadable books and audiobooks, the databases that make up the PA POWER Library, and other online resources. We provide reference service in person, via email and social media, as well as referrals to other social service organizations. We provide basic office services, such as copies, printing, FAXes, scan to email, comb binding, and lamination. We have computers for public use and Wi-Fi available inside and 24/7 outside our building. 

Our front doors have power assist, and we have a walker for those who may need a bit of help to be able to select their own materials. We also offer curb service.

We provide a rotating collection of materials to local senior centers and the Perry County prison. We also lend and receive items through interlibrary loan programs with libraries within Perry County, within Pennsylvania, and within the US.

Programs offered include Summer Reading Challenges for children, teens, and adults, preschool storytime, and special programs such as book signings with local authors and other programs of general interest. In addition, outreach events are Discover Newport's Food Truck Festival, Canal Day, and Little Buffalo Festivel of the Arts.

Last summer we debuted our Crop Swap, where people could leave and take excess produce from their gardens. We are expanding that this year to include excess garden seeds and plants. This summer we are adding a sewing machine to be used in the library by folks who need to make minor repairs to their belongings. We are also adding six hotspots for loan, and pickup lockers for people who cannot visit thelibrary during our regular business hours. 

Our community events, hosted jointly by the library and the Friends of Newport Public Library, include four used book sales per year and our December event, Santa Claus Lane Gift Shop, at which area children can buy gifts for family members for $1 per gift. Assistance is given in wrapping these gifts, and the children leave with their peek-proof gifts ready to give.

Our annual fundraisers include a June golf scramble, our Bike4Books Bicycle Tour the last Saturday in September, and our Holiday Buy-A-Book Program. 

Current and upcoming challenges include replacement of carpeting and renovation of our HVAC system, along with the constant expansion of our collection. In addition, in order to expand our services, we need to recruit and support qualified and compassionate staff whose mission aligns with ours.

As with many public libraries in Pennsylvania, each year we need to raise about three quarters of our operating budget through fundraising. Your donation, no matter what size, will help provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming facility with a well-rounded collection of library materials to help educate and delight all members of the community, programs to inspire people of all ages, and services to improve the lives of all members of our community.
