Established in 1888 as a non-profit in Guayaquil, Ecuador, "Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil" (JBG) provides effective support and solutions in health, education, social inclusion, and sports. JBG's mission is to offer solidarity-based social assistance, delivered with the highest quality and care, to those in need who require our services, contributing to the improvement of the population's quality of life.

For 136 years and aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, JBG has served ecuadorians, particularly those in vulnerable situations like people with disabilities, women and girls, children, the elderly, and those in poverty. Through a network of hospitals, schools, shelters, and social programs, JBG reaches individuals across the country.

JBG directly operates four hospitals (Luis Vernaza General Hospital, Dr. Roberto Gilbert Children's Hospital, Alfredo Paulson Hospital and Institute of Neurosciences), two schools (José Domingo de Santistevan and Santa Luisa de Marillac), a sports training school (Carlos Pérez Perasso Sports City), two girls' homes (Manuel Galecio and Calderon Ayluardo), two nursing homes (Corazón de Jesús and San Pedro), a shelter for relatives that have patients in all our hospitals, and two cemeteries (Patrimonial Cemetery and Metropolitan Pantheon).

JBG also runs social programs nationwide through territorial missions, providing vital support in areas like medical care, food assistance and others, including emergencies response at national level. Leveraging these missions, JBG's reach has reached all 221 cantons of Ecuador, benefiting people in poverty and extreme poverty.
