Johnathan Cares is Catalyzing Surplus into Hope. Established in 2019, it serves as a symbol of compassion, founded in memory of Johnathan - my remarkable child who defied the odds and overcame incredible challenges during his four-year journey of life.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to recover food and non-food products from our major donors, while reducing the waste footprint, all while treating those we serve with dignity and respect. We believe that no one should go hungry or feel invisible in our community.

Our distinct identity lies in our holistic approach. We don’t merely address immediate hunger, we also consider the environmental impact. By tackling both food, non-food insecurities and corporate sustainability simultaneously, we create a ripple effect of positive change. No questions asked; if you’re hungry, we provide nourishment.

Our recipients are not mere statistics; they’re our neighbors. Collaborating with partners like Wegmans and Panera Bread, maximizes our resources. Every dollar donated translates directly into families served. Our origin story resonates deeply with both donors and recipients, ensuring that Johnathan’s legacy lives on through our work.

In 2023, we distributed over $1 million worth of donated goods to those in need. However, we are facing an extremely critical challenge: securing a warehouse space, asap, to continue our work efficiently and effectively. This is where your support can make a significant impact.
