We operate in two locations in Brazil: Campinas, São Paulo (the City of Youth), founded in 1991, and in Vitoria, Espirito Santo (Hope Mountain) founded in 1999. Each location has a residential program for homeless youth at mortal risk, as well as offering certified job training in a dozen different marketable skills for hundreds of teens bussed in from the surrounding slums.
On our residential campuses, 250 children take part in a Christ-centered curriculum and experience Christ’s love through the actions of every staff member, who are qualified professionals who consider themselves missionaries.
Every day, we also bus in 600 youth from the community for intensive training in a marketable job skill. Providing the means for these young adults to sustain their families and future generations is our fullest expression of holistic love. When the students experience this tangible expression of God’s love through the staff, and as their despair gives way to hope, they are even more receptive to embracing Eternal Hope. We take every opportunity to share His word with everyone who sets foot on our campus.
After the students graduate, two community-based churches (one serving each campus) serve our alumni near to where they live and work. These churches are supported through the tithes of the alumni themselves. Our first alumni church, in Campinas, is fully supporting their own missionaries who have established children’s ministries as far away as Indonesia.
In 2022 we celebrated 30 years of success - directly affecting the lives of over 29,000 children. 90% of our residential graduates are financially independent, self-sufficient, and supporting their own families. Most remain connected with our community, many choosing to become staff members themselves.
