More than 430 million people in Africa live in extreme poverty—70% of the world’s poorest. And every day, more families in Africa are being pushed into extreme poverty because of climate change, conflict, displacement, and a lack of resources and opportunities. Consequently, extreme poverty is growing at an alarming rate per World Bank’s 2022 report. We aim to change that. To date, Village Enterprise has trained 287,612 entrepreneurs, started 86,958 businesses, and impacted the lives of over 1,805,245 women, men, and children living across rural Africa. Village Enterprise is headquartered in San Carlos, CA, and operates in eight countries across East Africa with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. Village Enterprise has top ratings across all categories from ImpactMatters and is endorsed by The Life You Can Save.
