RESTORE HER SIGHT - Botswana
- Raised
- $5,560
- Goal
- $155,000
In Botswana’s Okavango region, women have woven intricate baskets for generations, sustaining their families and communities. But today, their craft is threatening their eyesight. Prolonged weaving and poor materials are causing severe eye strain, threatening their vision and ability to earn a living.
Mme Kutsira, who has supported her family through weaving for over 45 years, is losing her eyesight. With diminished vision, her income has reduced as she can no longer create intricate patterns with ease. Mme Kare Setoya has already lost sight in one eye, forcing her daughter to put her education on hold, while she assists her.
This crisis affects 250 other women in the region. With your help, we can change their futures.
By raising $155,000, we can:
Provide sight-restoring surgeries for 100 women
Distribute protective eyewear to 250 weavers
Bring mobile health clinics to remote villages
Install solar panels in 100 homes to improve working conditions
Your donation will directly impact these women’s lives. Donate now to help restore their vision, preserve their craft, and bring hope to their families.
