In Gujarat, India, the government school system faces significant challenges, with many underprivileged students struggling to keep up due to policies that require admission based on age rather than knowledge level. In 2016, an assessment conducted in certain schools by an independent third party found that 44% of 7th graders had math skills equivalent to or below the 3rd-grade level. This gap leaves many children at a disadvantage, unable to participate fully in their education.

To bridge this gap, the NGO we support has implemented MindSpark, a program that tests each child’s abilities and tailors learning to their needs—something traditional classrooms can’t offer. Over the past five years, this NGO has expanded to 18 schools, serving over 7,000 students, with remarkable results. On average, students using MindSpark improve 1.4 grade levels yearly, far exceeding the typical progress in public schools.

The program’s success has sparked interest from other regional schools, and the NGO plans to expand to 6 more schools this year. However, this requires $60,000 in funding. Your donation can provide free, high-quality education to thousands of children, helping them reach their full potential. Together, we can transform education in Gujarat and give every child the chance to succeed.

Your support allows students to access MindSpark at zero cost to their families. Each student receives 2-3 hours of MindSpark instruction weekly, focusing on Math and English. With additional funding, we can purchase more computers, allowing students to have increased exposure and expand the program to include other subjects, providing a more well-rounded education. The impact of this program is clear: in one classroom, 55 out of 70 students qualified for a state scholarship—a remarkable achievement and one of the best results in Gujarat. Your donation will help us build on this success, giving even more children the opportunity to excel.

Your contributions will be directly allocated to the essential resources needed to expand the MindSpark program to new schools. The funds will be used to purchase laptops, MindSpark licensing costs, and teacher salaries, covering other necessary infrastructure like electrification and painting. Each element is crucial for creating a conducive learning environment where students can thrive. With your support, we can ensure that every school has the technology and tools necessary to deliver high-quality, personalized education to thousands of children.
