The SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation is a Brazilian non-profit civil society organization. Established in 1986, its mission is to inspire society to defend the country's most devastated biome. It promotes public policies to conserve and restore the Atlantic Forest, addressing water, biodiversity, and climate issues in an integrated manner. The foundation monitors the status of forests and associated ecosystems, while also working to restore degraded areas. Additionally, it advocates for and creates public policies supporting the biome. This cause directly benefits over 70% of the Brazilian population, who live in the Atlantic Forest and depend on it for their quality of life.
