We believe that educating people, transforming companies, and actively cleaning our rivers are the most effective ways to stop plastic pollution from entering our environment. Why rivers? Rivers are the blue arteries of our planet. However, many of the world's rivers and streams are severely affected by pollution, with plastic being one of the major culprits. To limit the amount of plastic pollution beyond the reach of collection and recycling that enters our oceans, we must remove it before it gets there. Programs: • Global program: Unite people worldwide to take (continuous) action and become part of the solution by organizing local cleanup actions around the world. • Core program Implement all 3 pillars of the Ripple Model according to the country's maturity level. Active countries 2022: Belgium, Cameroon, Indonesia, Ghana, Albania. • Technology program: Identify new technologies and deploy them in selected areas to verify impact/ease of implementation & maintenance and develop expertise on what system to deploy in various river environments in core program countries. • Emergency program Emergency relief & targeted actions in core countries: scout affected areas on security and accessibility, full organization of cleanup operations (material, coordination, insurance, transport), collaborate with government services and officials.
