At LPTM, Black and Brown boys express themselves; navigate life challenges; mentor their peers; and transform their communities.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces (LPTM) provides opportunities for Black and Brown boys and young men ages 3-25 to express themselves; navigate the challenges in their lives; teach and uplift others as mentors; and contribute positively to their communities. 

Boys enter the program as early as age three, with programming including a daily afterschool arts and education mentoring program from 3:00-7:00, which involves transportation and a meal, a college- and career-prep Saturday Academy for high school young men who also serve as mentors, a full-day six-week summer program, and family and community engagement. All programs are free for all youth and families. 

In all programs, LPTM provides an environment of love, security, and expression. Black boys and young men, from pre-school to grad-school and beyond, discover their authentic selves; awaken to a sense of purpose; have their brilliance and humanity valued and nurtured – and see themselves as the beautiful Masterpieces they are. In their artwork, advocacy, and model of mentorship, our Black boys and young men are protagonists of positive change.

Works to exonerate innocent people through DNA testing and reform the criminal justice system to prevent injustice.

The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. More than 350 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 38 who pleaded guilty to crimes they did not commit and 20 who served time on death row. The Innocence Project provided direct representation or critical assistance in more than 200 exonerations.   The Innocence Project’s full-time staff attorneys and Cardozo clinic students provide direct representation or critical assistance in most of these cases. The Innocence Project’s groundbreaking use of DNA technology to free innocent people has provided irrefutable proof that wrongful convictions are not isolated or rare events but instead arise from systemic defects. Now an independent nonprofit organization closely affiliated with Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the Innocence Project’s mission is nothing less than to free the staggering numbers of innocent people who remain incarcerated and to bring substantive reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment. Women of Color Unite (WOCU) is a social action non-profit organization focusing on fair access, fair treatment and fair pay for women of color in all aspects of the entertainment and media industries. Founded in 1989 by Bryan Stevenson, a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and bestselling author of Just Mercy, EJI is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. We challenge the death penalty and excessive punishment and we provide re-entry assistance to formerly incarcerated people.

EJI works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment. We are committed to changing the narrative about race in America. EJI produces groundbreaking reports, an award-winning wall calendar, and short films that explore our nation’s history of racial injustice, and we recently launched an ambitious national effort to create new spaces, markers, and memorials that address the legacy of slavery, lynching, and racial segregation, which shapes many issues today.

Over the last four years, FreeWorld has graduated over 800 returning citizens with their CDL-A license nationwide, created an estimated $26.2M economic impact, and saved $16.4M in marginal recidivism costs.

Computer Science training teaches students to take pride in what they do, to accept feedback and peer criticism, and be excited about sharing their work with the world.  High levels of quality computer science education will transform students into highly paid employees and entrepreneurs, as well as highly effective citizens. beneFIT Fitness Challenges is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises awareness of systemic racism and racial disparities in the United States through fitness challenges. Many American citizens stand against racism, but do not know how to get involved. At beneFIT, challenge participants can promote social equality simply by moving their bodies. Also, many Americans are unaware of the deeply rooted issues that have perpetuated systems of control for people of color and other marginalized populations for centuries. beneFIT aims to educate others about social injustices by tying the amount of activity and the funds donated to statistics about social injustices that exist today.

beneFIT is focused on painting a picture of the broad, overarching ways in which systemic racism manifests in our modern society so includes challenges that highlight multiple aspects of racial injustice and racial disparities. Participants track their activity using their fitness watch (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, etc.) and submit their activity on social media. That activity is then turned into a donation that we make to an organization whose mission aligns with the issue we are highlighting that month. 

beneFIT emphasizes the importance of participants' engagement within their physical community and the e-community. Participants are encouraged to explore connections to social injustices where they live and share their experiences/reflections with others via social media which connects participants to the cause on a deeper, more personal and emotional level. Concerning data reveals that 23% of Asian New Yorkers live in poverty, significantly higher than the citywide average of 16% of all New Yorkers. And a staggering 28% of Asian American older adults 65+ live in poverty. As the American Bar Association reveals, Asian elders, especially those from immigrant backgrounds, endure more social isolation and mental health struggles than their peers due to linguistics, financial, and cultural barriers. These factors combined significantly impact the mental and emotional well-being of Asian American older adults in a city where depression and suicide among older adult immigrants are on the rise.

**A Note from Our Founders about Heart of Dinner & Our Evolution from 2020-2024:**

Dear Cherished Supporter,

Thank you for taking a moment to connect with our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with you—a journey born from a deep, instinctive need to care for our Elders. **In March 2020, at the onset of the global pandemic, we leapt into action to support our Asian American elder community, who were facing devastating food insecurity, isolation, and loneliness.**

While many believe the urgency that defined the pandemic has passed, **the reality for our Elders remains critical. Even now, 1 in 3 Asian American older adults live below the poverty line.** These challenges are not new. For decades, this community has been overlooked, its struggles masked by the harmful “model minority” myth, which conceals the deep inequities faced by Asian American Elders. This, combined with language barriers, technology gaps, and economic hardship, means that many continue to lack access to the resources and care they deserve.

Out of a guttural instinct to protect and uplift our Elders, we **transformed our 300 square-foot apartment on the cusp of Chinatown and the Lower East Side into a sanctuary of cultural resonance and care.** We hyperfocused on those in the most critical state, providing emergency food relief and addressing their emotional needs through handwritten notes in their native languages, making sure our Elders felt seen, valued, and dignified.

**These care packages are more than just food—they are a lifeline.** Filled with culturally meaningful lunchboxes and fresh groceries beloved in Asian immigrant households like bok choy, rice, mung beans (and more!), all lovingly bundled inside decorated bags, attached with notes of love & joy that deliver warmth, connection, and belonging.

As our work evolved beyond emergency relief, we **built Heart of Dinner into a nonprofit focused on sustainable care.** Thanks to our incredible community of donors, partners, volunteers, and small team of staff, we have transformed into a **501(c)(3) public charity that continues to nourish and uplift our Elders, week after week.**

By Summer 2024, **we have delivered over 200,000 meals to beloved Elders living in significantly under-resourced and underinvested communities across New York City.** And our work is far from over. The challenges our Elders face didn’t begin with the pandemic, and they certainly won’t end with it. **These hardships are rooted in long-standing societal and governmental neglect, where policies and systems have historically overlooked the needs of this community.**

**Looking forward, we have plans to build Heart of Dinner's own delivery infrastructure with a fleet of electric vehicles, hire a dedicated team of drivers trained in our protocols—which emphasize cultural respect and thoughtful care when serving our Elders—and we aim to increase our care package distribution by 25%.** **These efforts will build upon our ongoing commitment to delivering care packages to our Elders and existing beneficiaries with the same high level of deep care and compassion.**

**Behind the scenes, we are strengthening systems to support Heart of Dinner’s sustainable growth,** so that we can continue to serve with deep care for years to come. **With these steps, we aim to cover all five boroughs of NYC—and even dream of extending our love and care to California.**

Wall Street Bound’s goal is to recruit and train 10,000 underrepresented youth for careers in finance by 2030. 

Launched in Summer 2019, Wall Street Bound’s goal is to recruit and train 10,000 underrepresented youth for careers in finance by 2030. Our mission is to provide urban young adults with the skills, experience, and social capital that empower them to reach their full potential through “front office” financial service careers. Wall Street Bound trains urban youth ages 16-24 in finance technical skills and the all important corporate professional skills. By cultivating the next generation of finance professionals, we hope to grow the number of people of color in finance and give underrepresented youth a chance to become future leaders on Wall Street and masters of their own financial worlds. 

Since inception, across the New York City community and beyond, Wall Street Bound has hosted finance workshops, bootcamps, live and virtual company visits, and other learning opportunities for more than 200 diverse urban young college students and recent graduates. Underserved communities suffer from a lack of access to financial literacy programs. Building financial security involves harnessing the array of resources, capabilities, and institutional supports that enable vulnerable families to sustain themselves, thrive, and move up the economic ladder. Sponsoring finance education programs in schools is instrumental in cultivating a pipeline of the next generation of Wall Street titans. Leveling the playing field starts with early exposure to knowledge and the vast range of career paths within the industry.

Our solution benefits low-income individuals, families, employers, and entire cities/regions. Students gain the skills and resources, including employer connections, to acquire and maintain successful careers, far beyond family-sustaining jobs. They learn to address financial security challenges and develop lifelong strategies for economic mobility. Employers benefit from an expanded pool of qualified diverse talent, and cities/regions thrive from retooling their youth workforces.

Low-income individuals are emblematic of overlooked human potential, their limited economic mobility rooted in geography (zip code as destiny), social pathologies, and economic exclusion. We remediate these barriers by accelerating student potential in ways that employers in financial services need and prescribe.

Wall Street Bound teaches both the necessary finance technical skills for successful careers on Wall Street, and provides the professional skills and social capital needed to break into the industry. By providing opportunities to meet Wall Street giants like Leon Cooperman and Mario Gabelli, industry experts, and other finance professionals of color, students can get a foothold on the ladder to meaningful finance careers and fiscally secure futures.

The CoolineKids mission is to empower and equip young leaders of color through innovative, skill-based programming.


Founded on April 1st, 2014 by 9-year-old Christian, Coolinekids set out to make an impact on East Palo Alto by providing children a safe space to have fun. Through many years of service, growth and innovation, CoolineKids launched a 2 week summer experience for 100 young people in East Palo Alto to teach leadership through play and art. As CoolineKids is our community’s only leadership development program serving all ages; today, we share our renewed commitment to the East Palo Alto community by launching our new organization. The CoolineKids Organization teaches K-8 students creativity, compassion, communication, and collaboration (our four foundational principles of service leadership) through our hands-on curriculum that includes cooking, photography, reading, science, art, play, and engineering. CoolineKids believes young people learn best from other young people, that’s why we engage high school and college age youth to support as leaders at our summer camps. Our youth grow their leadership skills through a variety of programs including our CrewCamp training experience and our YouthCrew year round program. Our vision is that all youth will grow to become service-centric, family-minded leaders dedicated to inspiring change in their communities. And we are eager to live that out by empowering and equipping young leaders of color through innovative, skill-based programming.

CoolineKids Organization

Trains and empowers educators/leaders to create racially equitable, safe, and empowering educational spaces for all youth.

The Center for Racial Justice in Education (CRJE) works to construct a new reality within our country's public school system; a world where all young people learn and thrive in equitable and affirming educational spaces. CRJE’s work with districts, schools, organizations, and community members result in empowered educators and leaders who are better equipped to build educational institutions that foster equitable outcomes, and ensure that all students have safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive spaces to learn.

 Since 2012 alone CRJE has trained over 17,000 educators/leaders, reached over 167,000 youth, and worked with over 400 educational partners in 17 states. Our work consists of intensive leadership and professional development trainings, longer-term, in-depth coaching and consultation, community-driven climate assessments, and youth-adult partnerships, all customized to meet the unique needs of each educational partner. In the long-term, through collective practice for educational equity at the institutional level, and through mutually accountable partnerships and coalition building at the community level, we aim to build an education system and spaces where all youth feel safe, and have access to a high-quality education. In this system, we will see:

- Students who are emotionally, physically and academically thriving. 
- Educators and leaders who have an ongoing, consistent practice of building educational communities grounded in equity. 
- Caregivers who are empowered to actively engage in community building.
- Public policy that has shifted to reflect racial equity and justice in education.

Center for Racial Justice in Education (CRJE)

Cultivate philanthropists to invest in organizations that empower underserved Asian and Pacific Islanders (API).

APCF was founded in 1990 by API community leaders in response to the need for alternative funding for Los Angeles-based nonprofit organizations serving API communities. Prior to its incorporation, less than 0.3% of all local foundation funds went to API agencies, according to a 1988 study by AAPI Equality Alliance (formerly known as A3PCON - Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council). In 1986, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles funded only five organizations serving APIs. To raise funds for community organizations serving API communities, APCF initiated employee giving campaigns at various workplaces, including private companies, federal agencies, state agencies, county agencies, city agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

In the past decade, APCF has diversified its fundraising efforts by developing other avenues for giving. With the growth of donor-advised funds, giving circles, grant making, scholarship funds, and capacity building initiatives, APCF has been able to cultivate philanthropy among APIs while providing multiple vehicles for donors to support the community.

As the only community-based fund serving API communities in Southern California since 1990, APCF is dedicated to increasing philanthropy amongst Asian Americans in order to build healthier communities, create a stronger unified voice, and develop leaders. Annually APCF and our 74 Network Agencies serve over 4.9 million people, over 82% of whom live at or below poverty income levels, in 47 API languages in addition to English and Spanish.

Fireside Project is a nonprofit on a mission to help people reduce the risks of their psychedelic experiences. We are creating systemic change in the field of psychedelics in the domains of safety, diversity & equitable access.

1. We save lives and reduce 911 calls and emergency room visits. Tripping alone and without proper support can be risky. Through our Psychedelic Peer Support Line, we have created a nationwide safety net for people during and after their psychedelic experiences that has substantially decreased 911 calls and hospitalizations and reduced physical and emotional harms while democratizing access to high-quality care.

2. We are creating a safer, more inclusive psychedelic community. Thanks to our Equity Initiative, 100% of callers who are BIPOC, transgender, and/or military vets can process past psychedelic experiences with a support-line volunteer sharing their identity, After that cohort of volunteers completes their year of service, we're helping them pursue careers in psychedelics through scholarships and paid internships. This will create a diverse pipeline of healers over many generations.

Advancing racial and economic justice to ensure dignity and opportunity for low-income people and people of color.

EBC builds power with systems-impacted people to drive systems-change. Over its 27-year history, the families and communities EBC organizes with have collectively transformed the criminal justice system in California, from closing  abusive youth prisons to passing first-of-its-kind legislation to challenge racial discrimination in trials and sentencing. Building on the organizing approach of civil rights leader Ella Baker, EBC invests in the leadership of the people most impacted by racial oppression. EBC is led by systems-impacted people and implements solutions created from lived expertise. Recent California victories like the Racial Justice Act for All, the RISE Act, and the Access to Programming Act were pioneered at EBC and are poised to bring thousands home to their families. EBC also invests in leadership in its core base. For example, currently incarcerated people are most impacted – but least included – in policies for decarceration. Through EBC’s 9,000+ inside member network, currently incarcerated people weigh in on policy solutions, organize with their peers, speak out on issues impacting their lives, and get support to advocate for their freedom. Locally, in the Bay Area, EBC builds credible alternatives to prisons. Restore Oakland, EBC’s community center, models investments that return opportunity to over-criminalized neighborhoods. Here, EBC and partners offer resources like restorative justice circles, re-entry support, tenants rights tools, job training, and entrepreneurship funding that build a vibrant, prosperous community. Organizing for safety, power, freedom, and opportunity, EBC advances the self-determination of the people most impacted by the criminal justice system.

Black Sisters in STEM (Black SiS) helps Black Gen Z women breaking into STEM careers share, learn, and get hired.

Vision: Reinventing the path for Black women in early career stages pursuing STEM-based careers.

Black women constitute only 2 percent of STEM jobs. A statistic that has been stagnant since 2018. Black Women represent the largest unserved market and largest disruptive force in business. Black women struggle at every stage of the STEM pipeline. It’s not due to lack of desire, or capacity, it’s to lack of support.

Black Sisters in STEM (Black SiS) is on a mission to unleash the global brilliance of Gen Z Black Women by reinventing their journey towards STEM based careers. We are building and upskilling the largest talent marketplace of Black Gen Z women to systematically address the racial wealth gap and create generational socio-economic growth. In short, we help Black Gen Z women breaking into STEM careers share, learn, and get hired.

We have built an empire of ~8k Black women from 33 countries and 200+ schools. Growing membership at 75% YoY. Most importantly, earning our fellows $4M+ in compensation packages. From Lagos, Nigeria to Atlanta, GA we are building a career community the world has never seen.

Womens Visionary Council is a nonprofit organization focused on community development. It is based in Berkeley, CA. It received its nonprofit status in 2008.

The Women's Visionary Council (WVC) is a nonprofit organization focused on research, education, and advocacy related to entheogenic plants and substances, often referred to as psychedelics. The council comprises a network of women who are scholars, researchers, healers, activists, and artists, all interested in the exploration of these substances' potential for healing, personal growth, and spiritual development.

The WVC conducts various educational events, conferences, and gatherings that center on the responsible and informed use of entheogens. They aim to promote dialogue, research, and understanding of these substances, particularly from a gender-inclusive and diverse perspective.

Their work often involves exploring the historical and cultural contexts of entheogenic plant use, addressing issues of social justice and equity within the psychedelic community, and advocating for informed and ethical engagement with these substances.

The Women's Visionary Council plays a crucial role in fostering discussions, sharing knowledge, and promoting a balanced approach to the study and use of entheogens, emphasizing safety, responsibility, and respect for indigenous traditions and cultural contexts.

No more police raids and deportations. Policing is not social work. Arrest and sentencing, even with diversion programming, is not a humane way to deliver social services. Labor rights in our workplaces, regardless of immigration status.
