Pets for Patriots

Our vision is an adopted pet in the home of every veteran and military family who needs one.

We give our nation's heroes and hero families a renewed sense of purpose by inspiring them to adopt those dogs and cats who are most overlooked at shelters, and share our philosophy of adopting pets for life.

Through our hardship and hero funds, we support our adopters in our program experiencing temporary financial challenge or inability to pay for extraordinary pet medical care. Even modest investments help keep people and pets together, avoiding surrender back to the shelter or economic euthanasia.

We are proud to serve veterans from WWII to active duty, from all armed forces and at any stage of their careers. Starting in 2025 we opened all of our programs to spouses of fallen service members seeking the emotional support of a rescued pet.

Animals saved through our program are dogs/cats who are adult, special needs, and chronically homeless, as well as larger breed dogs.

Pets for Patriots has programs in 41 states in communities large and small. You can give with confidence knowing that we hold a Four Star Rating from Charity Navigator, the most recognized and prestigious nonprofit evaluator in the world.
