Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo was established in 2000 by an independent group of professionals of the arts to support curatorial, editorial, educational and theoretical projects that contribute to the development of contemporary art in Mexico. We accomplish our mission through out the programs we design to satisfy the needs of the current context of visual arts in Mexico. Our goal is to benefit our countrys' cultural development in the most complete and extensive possible way. Our main programs are:  - The International Symposium on Contemporary Art Theory (SITAC), it's an international event that brings together leading participants in the practice, theory, and history of art to discuss specific themes. The symposium allows a broader diffusion of the artistic ideas among the public, the students, the artists, and related disciplines.  - PACs Grants: Since 2000, we have supported more than 370 projects through this Program. For each supported project, in addition to the economic grant, it involves entering a network of independent projects, and a legitimization before other foundations and / or artistic institutions. Receiving these grants allows many projects to assume their profession as artists and managers.  - Nodos Program: Its a series of activities designed to encourage the exchange between cultural production of the different regions of the country. The main objective of these initiatives is to facilitate a horizontal, plural and multidisciplinary discussion.  - Patrons Program: Our funds come from individual and corporate patrons. IN PURSUIT OF A DREAM In 1987 Mr. Janssens, with the help of his friends, set up the Institut Van Gogh, and also created the S.A. Ravoux– two organizations, each with its own specific purpose. The challenge was to marry "economics and culture" and "passion and reason" while maintaining the independence of each half of the equation. Economic credibility was guaranteed by the Ravoux S.A., and cultural legitimacy by the Institut Van Gogh. As well as organizing numerous cultural projects and helping to preserve the Auvers heritage, the main goal of the Institut Van Gogh is to bring about Vincent van Gogh's great wish, as expressed in his letter to Theo during his stay in the Auberge Ravoux in 1890: «  Some day or another I believe I will find a way to have my own exhibition in a café.  » 
	 THE WORLD'S SMALLEST MUSEUM The Institut Van Gogh has thus set its sights on the target of exhibiting 'some day or another' a Van Gogh painting of the Auvers period in the Ravoux Inn. With a mere 7 square metres (75 square feet) of exhibition space in the attic room number 5, the very room where the artist lived in 1890, this museum would be the smallest in the world – a real "room with a view." "Don't settle for easy options" Vincent van Gogh to Theo, 1874 But Vincent van Gogh's modest dream is now far more than a modest challenge, given the huge prices his paintings fetch on the art market today. Nevertheless the Institut Van Gogh believes that if it is supported by the lovers of Van Gogh's art worldwide, it will be possible to climb the last few steps to the top floor and make Van Gogh's dream a reality.

25,490 Jews and 353 Roma were deported from the Dossin barracks on 28 train transports to Auschwitz-Birkenau between 1942 and 1944. Few of them survived the ordeal. Today the old military base is a serene site of reflection and remembrance, a Memorial. In the museum, facing the former barracks, one can immerse oneself in the history of the Holocaust in Belgium. The museum provides testimonies not only of exclusion, discrimination and mass violence, but also of hope and resistance. Reflect on human rights violations, then and now. In the research centre one can find more about the role of the Dossin barracks during the Second World War or about the experiences of a loved one or family member.

Catharsis Arts Foundation is a non-profit initiated by the sculptor Prune Nourry that supports collaborative artistic creation and enables art to have a long term, positive impact on the women, artists, artisans, and communities who contribute to and inspire the artwork’s creation.

The Foundation encourages the making of artworks with and by underrepresented communities, enabling them to tell their stories. The collective art installations then tour around the world to raise awareness before returning to their country of origin and funding their preservation, as well as educational and artistic programs for the local communities.

The foundation is inspired by Prune Nourry’s profound belief that art and sculpture can be a tool to recreate balance in a deeply unbalanced world. It will operate globally, with first programs being held in Africa in 2024.

AFMM raises awareness among Americans and provides financial support, on a tax-deductible basis, for the Musée de Montmartre.

HistoryThe Musée de Montmartre is located in old houses on the Butte (hill of Montmartre). These residences, surrounded by gardens, housed the workshops and ateliers of numerous artists such as Auguste Renoir, Émile Bernard, Raoul Dufy, Charles Camoin, Suzanne Valadon and Maurice Utrillo. The permanent collection includes paintings, posters and drawings signed by Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani, Kupka, Steinlen, Valadon, and Utrillo. Together, the artworks recount the history of Montmartre, including the innovative studios at Bateau-Lavoir and 12 rue Cortot and the infamous animated cabarets of the Lapin Agile and the Moulin Rouge. The Museum includes an entire room dedicated to the French Cancan, while another features rare zinc plates of dreamlike scenes from shadow theatre such as Le Chat Noir, the first modern cabaret founded by Rodolphe Salis in 1881.  The collection was made possible by the History and Archeology Society “Le Vieux Montmartre,” which itself dates back to 1886.  The permanent collection presented will immerse you in the history of Montmartre and reveal its rich culture. The Musée de Montmartre was founded in 1960 and dates one of its buildings to the seventeenth century.  This building is the Bel Air House and is the oldest building in Montmartre.  During its heyday, 12 rue Cortot served as a residence and meeting place for many artists including Auguste Renoir, Suzanne Valadon and Émile Bernard, who held their studios here, as well as the fauve artists Emile Othon Friesz and Raoul Dufy.The Musée's attendees relive Montmartre's celebrated history through the eyes of Suzanne Valadon during the Musée's immersive media show. Attendees rediscover the atmosphere that dominated the winding streets of the Butte and the famous names that roamed them.  Valadon's humble origins, artistic training, contacts and success make her the perfect guide to introduce the visit and recount the history of Montmartre: she is an allegory of the Butte during its effervescence.  In July 2011, the Kléber-Rossillon Company took over the management of the Musée de Montmartre. It launched an ambitious program that expanded and restored the site. Exhibition space was doubled, the studio-apartment of the artists Suzanne Valadon and Maurice Utrillo was renovated, and the three gardens that inspired Renoir’s paintings were brought to their former glory.  Artists started to move to Montmartre in 1870 and the cafes and cabarets multiplied in the 1880’s. What quickly came to characterize Montmartre in the eyes of everyone was this effervescent bohemian spirit, a creative energy.  In 1912 Suzanne Valadon, Maurice Utrillo and André Utter settled into their atelier-apartment and left a symbolic trace at 12 Cortot. The spirit of the infernal trio has been restored: the frying pan can be found in its place, the mezzanine was rebuilt in the studio, and the walls of Utrillo’s bedroom still have their original panelling and barbed wire on the windows.  To give life to this reconstruction, the company Kléber Rossillon called upon the designer Hubert Le Gall, scenographer who has worked with renowned institutions (e.g., Musée d'Orsay, Musée de l'Orangerie, Jacquemart- André). Hubert Le Gall was able to recreate the atelier-apartment, faithful to the letters and writings of the time and as portrayed in historical photographs - an ode and celebration of the past.Three gardens dedicated to Auguste Renoir surround the Musée de Montmartre. They are named in memory of the impressionist painter who lived on-site between 1875 and 1877, where he painted several masterpieces including the famous le Bal du Moulin de la Galette (“The Moulin de la Galette Ball”), La Balancoire (“The Swing”), and Jardin de la rue Cortot (“Rue Cortot Garden”). The Renoir Gardens offer breathtaking views of the vineyard, the Clos Montmartre, and northern cityscape of Paris.  The Musée de Montmartre captures the excitement of a time at the turn of the century (the Fin de Siècle) in a neighborhood where artists, musicians, poets, and friends gathered and created.  This time gave birth to modern art, pushing against the boundaries of the time.  The Musée de Montmartre is rooted in history.  The American Friends of Musée de Montmartre celebrate this time and very special place.

The LRE Foundation is a growing international, inclusive network that connects people and organisations dedicated to preserving and valorising the tangible and intangible cultural heritage related to World War II, its memory and meaning. The organisation’s main objective is to make this history relevant and accessible, especially for the younger generations. 

The LRE Foundation promotes diversity by developing a multi-perspective understanding of the history of World War II. As each country had a different wartime experience, it is our goal to present each perspective in relation to each other.

- Liberation Route Europe 

A certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe that connects people, places, and events to mark Europe’s liberation from occupation during World War II. 

In order to make the route a physical part of the European landscape, LREF is developing a network of Liberation Route Europe trails that allows new ways of experience the route by hiking, walking, and cycling.

Renowned architect Daniel Libeskind has designed a symbolic family of trail markers called the ‘Vectors of Memory’ that will honour people, places, and stories found throughout the European landscape.

- Europe Remembers

Europe Remembers is an awareness and information platform that brings together commemorative sites and events in a collaborative, inspirational remembrance portal. Europe Remembers seeks to create a global commitment to preserve history and eyewitness memories for future generations, and call for an active participation.

It enables diverse communities to reflect on the complex heritage of World War II from multiple historical perspectives. The aim is to teach, to share experiences, and to encourage mutual understanding of our shared past. With fewer eyewitnesses each passing year, Europe Remembers seeks actively to promote new ways of commemorating and remembering World War II for the future.

- Youth Programme

The LRE Foundation is committed to promoting innovative active remembrance and memory transmission projects targeting the younger generations through the LRE Youth Programme. An essential feature of these initiatives is the inclusion and sharing of diverse experiences, applying a multi-perspective approach to WWII history and remembrance.

With HistoryTreks, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, students of different countries get together to reflect on the history and impact of WWII on their regions with formal and non-formal learning methods, including hiking the Liberation Route Europe and visiting remembrance sites along the way.

In turn, with EASTory through their Eyes and Persecution through their Eyes, young Europeans are invited to learn about personal stories of people who experienced WWII and its consequences across Europe, reflecting on the complexity of such shared history. The ‘through their Eyes’ series combines an online and travelling exhibition with youth events in partner locations and is funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme of the EU.

The Vereniging Rembrandt (Rembrandt Association) is an independent membership-based organization that supports art acquisitions for Dutch museum collections great and small, and with large and small gifts, too. It was founded in 1883 by a small number of art lovers who wanted to help save important works of art for the Netherlands. Today, the Vereniging Rembrandt has over 17.500 members, both domestic and abroad, and has helped acquire well-over two thousand works of art for over 125 museums. Among these acquisitions are true icons of art, such as Johannes Vermeer's "Milkmaid" in the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt's Self-portrait  in the Mauritshuis, and Henri Matisse's perhaps finest paper cut-out: "La perruche et la sirène" in Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Benaki Museum 

MZMF prevents the erasure of African American communities through the responsible practice of public history and heritage tourism.

MZMF serves as a conduit to provide financial and technical support to African American church communities and cemeteries in Mississippi. In addition to providing memorials for Blues musicians without grave markers, we provide historical consulting, research, education, and referrals to descendant communities to prevent the erasure of cultural resources in African American communities. By installing over 25 memorials since 1989, MZMF transforms abandoned cultural resources into international tourist destinations.

In 2021, we re-incorporated MZMF as "The Mt. Zion Memorial Fund for Blues, Music, and Justice," and we won over $100,000 in grant awards from Visit Mississippi, the Hills National Heritage Area, the American Historical Association, the MS Delta National Heritage Area, and the MS Arts Council. In the past year, we have installed memorials for Nathan Beauregard, Jim Jackson, and the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, and we have sponsored the RL Boyce Picnic in Como, MS since 2021.

In 2022, MZMF established the Blues Communities Project, working with church and community leaders in 4 counties to add the names and locations of over 660 cemeteries to our WebAtlas of African American Burial Grounds. Services and activities on the pilot project included informational workshops, invited talks, active discussions, archival research, and the launch of a new Wordpress website, featuring ArcGIS-powered surveys and mapping, digital exhibitions, and an online support portal. 
 
Funding is requested to support MZMF’s general operations. MZMF plans to expand the Blues Communities Project into Leflore, DeSoto, and Noxubee Counties, expanding its coverage to a total of 7 counties. Funding will support the development of informational workshops, conceptualized and designed by people of color to increase local participation, including public lectures on gentrification and the erasure of African American history. The participatory addition of burial grounds to the WebAtlas will allow MZMF to continue its growth, extend its reach into descendant communities, and expand its outreach opportunities.

The Dhody Research Institute (DRI) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to scientific and museological research,  consultation, and education. Through partnerships with historic, scientific or medical institutions, DRI conducts  research with historical medical collections to improve  21st –century human health. The Institute also provides consultation to institutions and researchers who seek to create museums or exhibitions with a medical historical dimension or maintain their collections of anatomical/pathological anatomy. The history of the "Freunde der Nationalgalerie" began with a passion for the visual arts, a desire to take risks and the enthusiasm of the founding members - and they continue to shape the actions of the Friends to this day.

Since 1977, the "Freunde der Nationalgalerie" have been a key supporter of the work of the Nationalgalerie in Berlin. 

The aim of the Friends is to increase the scope for action of the Nationalgalerie and its six museums in times of scarce public funding. The annual membership fees make a significant contribution to maintaining the Nationalgalerie as a lively, innovative institution that reflects the production of art from the 19th century to the present day in numerous exhibition projects and collection presentations and communicates this to a broad public.

However, one thing is always important: it is not the friends who decide whether classical or contemporary art, whether established or new, will move into the Nationalgalerie's six buildings. It is the decision of those artistically responsible, it is the wish of the directors that determines what we do. For this is an unbroken principle, the "basic law" under which the association was founded and still operates today: Nothing may be exhibited or acquired by the Friends that does not correspond to the wishes of the directors.

The National Gallery (German: Nationalgalerie) in Berlin, Germany, is a museum for art of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. It is part of the Berlin State Museums. From the Alte Nationalgalerie, which was built for it and opened in 1876, its exhibition space has expanded to include five other locations. The museums are part of the Berlin State Museums, owned by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.

Springfield Community Center Inc is a nonprofit organization focused on arts, culture, or humanities. It is based in Union Point, GA. It received its nonprofit status in 2016.

In 1825, when Taliaferro County was formed, our ancestors were here as enslaved people on the Plantations in Georgia Militia District 606, later called Springfield Community. 
After emancipation, our great-great-grandfather, his siblings, cousins, and friends drove seventy miles to Augusta University, later to become Morehouse College, pursuing an education. 
In 1935 the Springfield School board purchased land, secured the plan for a Rosenwald design, and began to build the log cabin school, which opened as a school for Black children and operated as such from 1937 through 1955. 
From 1955 until 1965, it served as a meeting place for the Masons, Odd-Fellows, and other Black organizations in the Community. 
In 1965 a community member, Springfield School graduate, and educator solicited others and trained under the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Citizen Education Program to prepare Taliaferro County Black citizens to register to vote. They were joined by Summer Community Organization and Political Education (SCOPE) volunteers. 
Mr. Turner and five other educators involved in this activity lost their contracts with the school. Not renewing the contract upset the student, and a protest began. The Springfield School became headquarters for this effort. As the boycott continued, the school building became a Freedom School. 
As the Civil Rights protest ended, Mr. Turner partnered with Randolph Blackwell and others to form Crawfordville Enterprise to create jobs. The textile mill and silk-screening plant would be in the old school building. SCLC secured a larger facility as the textile mill grew, and the old school was used as a Head start and Day Care for the plant workers. 
Taliaferro County (Georgia) has a majority Black population, with the school system being 90 percent black. The county's historical markers and statues honor Alexander H. Stephens, Vice President of the Confederacy. Springfield Community wants to change the biased perception by teaching our history, which is America's History. 
The historical listing, restoration, and preservation of the Springfield Log Cabin School and its development as a community center will impact the larger community by enhancing the tourism industry in Taliaferro County. The School will be marketed as the only log cabin/Rosenwald design school in the county, as a repository of African American history and culture, education, and as a symbol of self-reliance. It is the only Civil Rights Era Freedom School in Georgia. It is anticipated that the interpretative portion of the center will provide an opportunity for students of the county to understand better African American life, educational commitment, and the civil rights struggle. 
The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Community Center, Inc's greatest asset is its commitment to completing this project. This commitment is rooted in the fact that the members were born in the Springfield Community and are descendants of the original trustees or original landowners. They are property owners in the Community, and some attended elementary School at the log cabin school or the Freedom School.
The group has partnered with the County Commissioner, Taliaferro School System, Taliaferro County Historical Society, The Purification Heritage Center, Landmark Preservation, Ethos Preservation, AIA, Attorney John M. Clark, of Clark and Clark, the University of Georgia, and several churches in the county 
The complete restoration project will cost approximately a million dollars and divided into phases.

Phase 1 of the overall rehabilitation of the Springfield Log School consists of two main components. First, enhancements need to be made to stabilize the building structurally. Secondly, efforts should be made to restore exterior features to cease further deterioration and prevent water intrusion by remedying exterior deficiencies. Structural repairs would include the in-kind repair of brick piers, wood framing, and log cladding. Significant jacking to alleviate deflection will need to occur. As the log cladding serves as the building's siding, by repairing or selectively replacing the significantly deteriorated logs in-kind, the exterior cladding would shed water. Furthermore, in-kind repairs to eave brackets, rafter tails, roofing, and flashing will help ensure that degradation due to water intrusion is ceased. This is a critical step in protecting this unique building from further loss of historic fabric.

Saath founded in 1989 serves the informal sector through education, livelihood, health, & financial literacy and inclusion.  

Saath is a Public Charitable Trust, founded in 1989, with an aim to support those underserved. Saath in Hindi/Gujarati means ‘together, co-operation, or a collective support. The organization is dedicated to empowering the marginalized communities, by providing livelihood opportunities, access to health care, education, financial literacy and inclusion through varied interventions developed organically in a participatory manner. The goal is to build ownership from within the community to ensure sustainability and impactful transformations, especially for women and children.

**Vision:** Saath envisions inclusive and empowered communities and individuals.

**Mission:** To make human settlements equitable living environments where all residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status.

**Approach:** Saath engages organizations, corporates and individuals from India and globally as partners and supporters. Saath initiated the Integrated Community Development Program, an undertaking that seeks to rejuvenate slums into vibrant neighbourhoods. Saath works with slum residents, children, women, youth, informal sector workers, and vulnerable people in urban and rural areas. It addresses multiple needs of the socio-economically vulnerable with one-stop solutions, through which slum residents have access to basic services for holistic growth.

**Saath’s Thematic areas:**

**Livelihood** - The livelihood programs at Saath focus on making individuals financially independent either by equipping them with vocational training (traditional and non-traditional) or supporting them through entrepreneurial support. Women have been at the core of this initiative. Till date Saath has actively supported **72,809** youth and women for vocational training. Out of which 5200 are successful entrepreneurs. 3,200 women have been trained in non-traditional livelihoods.

**Education** - Saath has supported almost **23,066** children through various educational initiatives.**** The three main strategies tailored to the specific needs of communities are:

**Balghar:** Launched in 2004 as pre-school spaces designed to provide a nurturing educational environment for the holistic development of children. Activities within these spaces concentrate on addressing a child's cognitive, socio-economic, physiological, psychological, and nutritional needs. Serving as demonstration spaces, Balghar complements government-run anganwadis (Pre-schools), catering to the same age group of children. The ultimate goal of the Balghar is to seek admission for the child into a mainstream school, to further her education.  

**Child-Friendly Spaces:** Is a vital initiative aimed at offering a secure environment for child laborers and the offspring of construction workers, addressing their comprehensive developmental requirements. Frequently left unsupervised due to the absence of parental care, these children are at risk of being compelled into child labor. 

**STEM Education:** Is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through specially developed Centres, equipped with hands-on learning material, an essential need for children from marginalized communities, particularly girls, who often lack opportunities to pursue these subjects. The STEM experience also presents to them varied career opportunities which they can now seek out and explore. 

**Health –** Health has been an integral part of Saath’s working since its inception, strongly believing that health has an implication on every aspect of a person’s life. Till date Saath has supported **8,22,040** through various interventions, health awareness programs and referral linkages especially focusing on reproductive and child health, vaccination, immunization, Tuberculosis and malnourishment among the vulnerable communities.

**Livelihood:** The livelihood program focusses on making indiviuals financially independent either by equipping them with vocational training (traditional & non-traditional) or supporting them through entreprenurial support. Women have been at the core of this initiative. Till date Saath has actively supported 76,788 youth and women through vocational training. 8,832 have been supported through Microentrepreneurship (ME) interventions. 

**Integrated Area Development (IAD) -** The goal of IAD is bringing together & empowering communities to address issues affecting the quality of their life. The program includes extensive mapping, identification of problem areas and prioritizing them on the basis of severity and urgency. All done in a participatory manner to build ownership from with the community. Committees are then formed and empowered to take these issues to the local government for redressal. 25000 households have been supported through the IAD and more than 500 problems have been resolved. 

**Financial inclusion –** The program aims to build a habit of saving among the community members, no matter how small the amount be. The intervention started in Rajasthan in 2016 spread to Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat as well. Saath has till date supported over **30,000** beneficiaries through various financial inclusion interventions.

 Founded in 1994, the Remember Museum is one of the most interesting of its kind. It is housed in an old renovated barn and is comprised mainly of items abandoned by the American First Infantry Division soldiers who once enjoyed "R & R" at the Schmetz' s farm when Marcel was a young boy. The artifacts include personal items given by numerous WWII Veterans from various units. It is a museum with a human dimension, made great by its welcoming environment, its originality, its simplicity. The museum strives to serve as the testimony of our gratefulness towards all the G.I.s who, at the risk of their lives, gave us our freedom back. Because curators Marcel & Mathilde (M&M) are nearing retirement, the museum and its contents will be transferred to the King Baudouin Foundation and a board of directors will manage the future of this great endeavor, while keeping it warm and personal much like M&M themselves. The Sursock Museum is the first modern and contemporary art institution in Lebanon.


HISTORY
The Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock Museum is the first modern and contemporary art museum in the Arab world. It opened officially its doors in 1961 thanks to a bequest of Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock, a philanthropist and a collector, who donated to the Lebanese citizens his Ottoman-Venetian style villa, built in 1912, and art collection. The Museum survived the turmoil in Beirut and has been open to the public for the last six decades with few interruptions.
Throughout its history, it lived through many tribulations. The various armed conflicts and tensions in Lebanon left quite a few scars. Healing has been long and arduous. 

Today, we are grateful for being able to celebrate the recovery of our cherished institution.
Soon after the Beirut blast on August 4, 2020, we started the rehabilitation of the museum, without the assurance that we would secure all the necessary funds. 
The solidarity of volunteers, local and international institutions as well as individual friends, enabled us to reopen in May 2023.
We are so pleased to give the Sursock Museum back to the Lebanese and to the
international friends of Lebanon. 
Increasing numbers of visitors and participants in our diverse activities are a source of energy and renewed dynamism.  
During the different phases of its history, it strived to be faithful to its calling: an inclusive space of encounter, education, innovation and cooperation. More concentrated efforts are ahead of us. 

The museum's new programming wants to engage with a diverse and wider public today. With its exhibition spaces, public library, auditorium, the Sursock Museum will continue to be a safe space for cultural dialogue, critical thinking and free expression. It is a platform for continuous learning, formative of future generations of art and cultural professionals, and we will continue to do so without compromising on quality, in dialogue at eye-level with international institutions.

GOVERNANCE
Following the will of Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock, the Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock Museum with its building and art collection, was constituted in the form of a Waqf on 14 January 1953.
(The Waqf is not too dissimilar to the western legal form of Trust or Foundation). The role of custodian of the Waqf, the mutawali, was assigned to the president of the municipality of Beirut, regardless of which political regime exists at the time.


OUR CHALLENGES
Before the crisis, the museum's activities were mostly financed by a tax on building permits levied by the Beirut Municipality. It now covers less than 2 per cent of our expenses. 

This is our new challenge: financing this vital institution to survive amid complete financial collapse. With our board of trustees, our circle of friends and future supporters, will do so while still offering free access to art.

Iconic Houses provides a worldwide platform for architecturally significant modern houses and artists' homes and studios from the 20th century that are open to the public, by sharing best practices about the conservation, policy, programming and management of house museums and significant private houses. Member sites include Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera (Spain), Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye (France), and Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (USA), among almost 200 other masterpieces and hidden gems around the world. At this time over 50 of the world's most iconic modern houses, especially those from the second half of 20th century, are threatened due a lack of legal protection, deferred maintenance or other issues associated with development pressures. We need to act now, or risk losing them forever. What can be done to save them? Icons at Risk sets out to answer that question. Through impactful exhibitions, events, and workshops, the Centre **commemorates** the victims and survivors of the Nazi regime and various genocides preceding and following the Holocaust.

Established in 1999, it was the **first** **Holocaust Centre in Africa**, driven by the steadfast commitment to provide **free Holocaust and genocide education**. A primary objective from the outset was to extend this educational outreach to underprivileged communities locally and nationally and to individuals who might not have the financial means to visit.

The **impact and success** of the Centre’s programmes with schools and civil society was an important factor leading to the **inclusion of Holocaust studies in the curriculum of all South African schools**, making the study of the Holocaust mandatory for the students in grade 9 (14-15 years old).

Today, the Centre takes an additional step by **subsidizing** **transportation for disadvantaged groups**, eliminating financial barriers that might otherwise impede access to valuable educational experiences. Demonstrating a dedication to comprehensive support, the Centre also extends its commitment by offering complimentary meals and educational materials to groups of learners originating from the most underprivileged and economically challenged areas of the country.

Through these initiatives, the Centre annually reaches thousands of high school learners and hundreds of teachers, fostering a broader and more inclusive understanding of history and human rights. At the same time the Centre provides a wide range of programming for members of the **local Jewish community, citizens of Cape Town and international visitors**.

Collaborating with external experts, the Centre curates exhibitions and runs programs on other acts of mass violence, such as the Armenian Genocide, *Holodomor*, Rwandan Genocide, and more, emphasizing the **global impact of hatred** and the imperative of preventing history from repeating itself.

In addition to historical exhibitions, the Centre employs the power of art for **expression and healing.** Collaborations with artists from around the world present diverse mediums that offer fresh perspectives on human suffering, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit.

The exhibitions and the accompanying programs serve as a **testament to the enduring power of memory and education**. By confronting the darkness of the past, the Centre aims to inspire a renewed commitment to humanity, understanding, and peace, in the hope that the lessons learned from history lead to a **brighter and more inclusive future**.

The Mansart Foundation aims to revive heritage of outstanding interest, whether historical or contemporary: natural and landscaped sites (parks, botanical gardens), architectural buildings (monuments, residences, industrial establishments), collections and museums.

These places are our heritage and have shaped our art of living, the French Art de vivre. These sites all deserve to be preserved in a sustainable way to be passed on to future generations. This is the purpose of the Mansart Foundation. 

The Foundation focuses on a strong social mission. It aims to open its doors to less privileged visitors and enable them to discover and appreciate legacy buildings, art history and natural environments, thereby helping them develop both their understanding, curiosity, and creativity. 

The Mansart Foundation supports a variety of projects within different sheltered foundations. 

Already owner of the  Chateau de Maintenon , the Foundation is also restoring the  Chateau de Bagatelle to open it to the public. This chateau - listed as a historical monument since 1978 - is exceptional, both for its own history and the one of its owners, and for its location in the heart of Paris and its great architectural quality. 

Under the aegis of the Mansart Foundation, the  Amici Terrae Sanctae Foundation  was created to support the Terra Sancta Museum project in Jerusalem. This museum will present the roots of Christianity and the Treasures of the Holy Sepulchre, composed of unique pieces. Through a rare collection of paintings, sculptures, archival documents and sumptuous gifts from European courts, the works revealed will attest to the centrality and splendor of Jerusalem throughout the centuries. 

To sustain the actions in favor of  Parisian museums , the Mansart Foundation associated with the Friends of the Pompidou Center and the Friends of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris to create under its aegis respectively the Foundation of the Friends of the Pompidou Center and the Foundation of the Friends of the MAM Paris. By donating to these foundations, you will support exceptional cultural projects and contribute to the development of the collections of these museums. 

To safeguard heritage and bring it back to life, while acting in favor of local development and regional planning, the Mansart Foundation provides support to  the Rempart construction sites  through the creation of the Union Rempart sheltered Foundation. These workcamps are not only places to discover heritage and restoration techniques, but also places to learn how to live together and to exercise citizenship.  

The Mansart Foundation is involved in the promotion and animation of the Vauban Citadel in Belle-Ile-en-Mer, a listed historic monument, and the  Vauban sites of Belle-Ile-en-Mer and Morbihan . For this purpose, the sheltered foundation of the Vauban sites of Belle-Ile-en-Mer and Morbihan was created under the aegis of the Mansart Foundation.  

The sheltered foundation for the Preservation of the  Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay and the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse  was created to support the project to restore and develop the remarkable heritage of the former Vaux de Cernay Abbey. The Vaux de Cernay Abbey, a 12th century Cistercian abbey, is a unique, fascinating, and mysterious place located in the heart of the Chevreuse Valley in the state forest of Rambouillet. 

The  Hortus Botanica Foundation  was created to develop an action in favor of gardens and botanical heritage. Its purpose is to help preserve, restore, create, animate, develop, and share to the public the plant heritage, the heritage built or unbuilt, and the gardens existing or to be created, in connection with it. It participates in the cultural dynamization of the living and historical heritage in order to perpetuate extraordinary places.

We preserve, develop, and promote the assets comprising the Domaine national de Chambord which is on Unesco's world heritage list.

Chambord has aroused admiration and fascination to the world for over 500 years. Placed on France’s first list of historical monuments in 1840, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981, it is one of the most breathtaking construction of the Renaissance. Far from being a residential palace or a hunting lodge, Chambord embodies the values of humanism, inventiveness and human genius.

Preserving this heritage means constantly questioning how it can be made accessible to the widest possible audience. With this objective in mind, each year new developments and innovative projects are presented to visitors, a rich program of events punctuates the life of the estate, and ecological actions are implemented. The estate is also developing a strategy to diversify its own resources, notably by reviving its vocation as a food-producing farm.

Chambord’s projects are structured around four development priorities: Chambord cultural and artistic, Chambord educational and social, Chambord sustainable and agricultural, and Chambord innovative. As an essential supporter of the enrichment of the mahJ's collections and the promotion of its heritage and activities, the foundation is committed to supporting contemporary artists whose work is rooted in the École de Paris and resonates with the mahJ's collections.
Your support will help preserve one of the finest collections of works of art and objects illustrating the heritage of Jewish culture in Europe and around the Mediterranean, from Antiquity to the present day, preserved and hosted by the musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (mahJ), as well as strengthening the museum's activities, particularly its educational initiatives. History: Thanks to the commitment of the Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation, discussions among the artist's heirs were successfully concluded in 2021. The Canton of Lucerne purchased the listed property and is responsible for the maintenance and renovation of the house and the surrounding park. The Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation is responsible for the programs and cultural events at Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar, wit-hout any financial support from the Canton of Lucerne. 

VILLA SENAR is the name of the artist house of the composer, conductor, pianist, Hollywood star and family man Sergei Rachmaninoff (SE=Sergei, NA=Natalia, R=Rachmaninoff). Expelled from his native Russia, the artist lived in exile in various countries from 1917 onwards. On the Hertenstein peninsula near Weggis in the canton of Lucerne, he found a new home and renewed creative energy.  



Our mission as a foundation is to create international awareness for Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar and to develop and establish its artistic program over the coming years and make an artistic contribution to the region and beyond. We want to communicate Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar as a cultural and educational center with a broad partici-pation with the highest quality standards from home. 

Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar locally and regionally and, together with partners, posi-tion the Hertenstein peninsula as a special and sustainable place of art and culture. Attention will also be paid to international activities, as the name Rachmaninoff is a global trademark.

CHANCE: Potential, unique location, curious people, Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar has not been open to the public until now, the house belongs to the Canton of Lucerne, this partnership needs to be well positioned in the long term, we start "from scratch" and can react optimally to current events, small team, manageable size of the venue, small, fine, barrier-free, approachable, potential outdoors, involvement of the region, already established partnerships and strong allies, agility through rapid decision-making and a doer mentality of the people involved, network. MANAGING DIRECTOR: The Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation has employed the Managing & Artistic Director, Andrea Loetscher, since June 1, 2022. As a musician with a teaching diploma and soloist diploma, a master's degree in mar-keting and management from the University of Basel, as an entrepreneur and music school director, she has local roots and a national and international network. In 2024, she will also complete an MBA in Business Development & Marketing at the Univer-sity of Basel. The Managing Director is supported in financial matters by Ludwig von Mutius, economist, financial consultant and former CFO of major international com-panies. Ludwig von Mutius makes his expertise fully available to the Serge Rachma-ninoff Foundation on a voluntary basis. In addition, the Serge Rachmaninoff Founda-tion has employed the Managing Assistant, Salome Rüttimann, on a 40% basis since 1.1.24. Volunteers for concert support, guided tours and other work.

Our work is directed against Antisemitism and xenophobia. 

The organization is an NGO and located in the small town of Breisach with now 15.000 inhabitants in the southwest corner of Germany on the border to Alsace/France on the Rhine river. The Swiss border is only 60 km to the south. 

The organization was founded in 1999 with the aims 1. to purchase the former Jewish school building (built before 1690), 2. to renovate it and 3. to use it according to its historical importance. The building is located in the former Jewish lane, in walking distance to the former synagogue and the older of two Jewish cemeteries. Jews had lived in this quarter between 1640 and 1940. 



The mission according to the statutes is to develop new relationships with Holocaust survivors and their descendants and to work together for a full documentation of the histories of about 250 Jews who had lived here before the Nazi persecution began 1933. They had either become refugees or victims of one of the first deportations in October 1940 to Southwest France (Camp de Gurs). Of those deported the majority became in 1942 and after victims of the deportations from France to Auschwitz concentration camp. 



Again and again groups of Holocaust survivors and their descendants returned to what was once their "Heimat" to commemorate the Jewish community which had been destroyed. They became part of a network: the "Overseas members" or "Friends of the Blue House" and could follow the organization making progress in building up a vibrant institution. During each of those group visits to Breisach the program was partially focussing on interaction with young German people (students), most of them have never met a Jewish person.

 

After finishing the renovation of the historical building in 2003 a 15 year period of volunteer work began with lectures, concerts, guided tours and research. From 2017 on the Blue House staff began to professionalize its reach out to young people and improve its pedagogical work using the archival sources for teaching personal stories. This was made possible with the financial support of a Foundation helping to create a part-time  job for a mediator for historical education and cultural transmission.

An exhibition is permanently installed in the Blue House garden (created by the House of the Wannsee Conference Berlin) dealing with the history of the deportation of the southwestern German Jews to Camp de Gurs in 1940 in the context of the Nazi occupation of France (German/French). Information about the history of the Jews of Breisach (1640-1940) was added and about how the Nazis turned Breisach into a dangerous place for Jews after 1933. A special focus was directed on the role of the Breisach railway bridge, across which seven trains with more than 5600 Jews were deported on October 22, 1940 after having been arrested in their houses, expropriated, taken to a train station and forced into a train directed towards the city of Freiburg and from there to Breisach and across the river Rhine into occupied France. A second grant by a Federal institution (2020-2022) was used to deepen the historical research, to create materials for teaching and to design a digital handbook as a short introduction to the Gurs deportation using the example of the Breisach Jews (as one of 138 places where Jews were rounded up). In summer of 2023 forty Jewish guests from five countries, their families originating in Breisach, shared the celebration of 20 years of the Blue House. A week-long program was prepared and executed with many highlights especially guests meeting students from Breisach and Freiburg. 



The organization has turned in the application for another grant (April 2024 - December 2025) to bring together French and German students to explore the differences of their narratives about the years of Nazi occupation of Alsace. For the 80th anniversary of the end of WW II, the installation of a democratic Germany in 1945 and the development of strong friendly ties between France and Germany a special celebration is in planning for the Breisach bridge. French and German students will work together in a Dance project (under the guidance of Battery Dance Company NY director Jonathan Hollander) creating choreographies and a special choreography for the Breisach bridge. With their participation the young generation will support the plans for a new railroad "bridge for the future" and put emphasis on the strong bond between the youth of both countries.

The experiences and cultural contributions of people of African descent have been marginalized throughout history and MoCADA’s mission is to undertake the responsibility of rewriting that history in order to give a more accurate portrayal of the contributions of people of African descent to the artistic and global landscape.

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) uplifts the visual, literary, and performing arts as a conduit that connects the shared history, values, and futures of Africa and its diaspora, for the purpose of advancing dialogue on pressing social + political issues faced by these communities. We give platform within our safe spaces to artists whose work honor, celebrate, and expand this rich conversation while inviting our community in to explore, engage, and thrive within our collective evolution.

For 20 years, MoCADA has empowered vulnerable communities and instilled a sense of pride in visitors through representation and access to the arts including 100+ groundbreaking artists from 20+ countries (Terence Nance, Dread Scott, Wangechi Mutu, etc) whose voices have gone largely ignored; to Black, LatinX, Indigenous, especially, low income, children, women, immigrants, elders, LGBTQ+, people living with disabilities etc from the communities of Central Brooklyn and beyond.

Our mission is to preserve the Port Royal Sound for the environmental, cultural and economic well-being of our area.


The Port Royal Sound—a tidal inlet of the Atlantic Ocean—is the body of water that defines the Lowcountry of South Carolina, from the beaches of Hilton Head to the salt marshes of Beaufort. The mission of the Port Royal Sound Foundation (PRSF) is to preserve the Port Royal Sound for the environmental, cultural, and economic well-being of our area. PRSF strives to be the leading authority and advocate for the Port Royal Sound, providing and supporting education, research, and conservation initiatives to preserve it. 
PRSF began in 2011 and opened the doors to its FREE Maritime Center museum in 2014. We center our exhibits, events and programs around ecology, art, culture, history, and recreation to ensure meaningful, well-rounded engagement with our community and the Sound. We believe that high-quality educational activities and outdoor experiences should be accessible for all, regardless of limiting circumstances. For this reason, much of what we offer is free or has minimal program fees, and our funding comes largely from generous donors and grants.

•	Citizen Scientist Program: local community members and organizations assist in the collection and compilation of long-term, widespread water quality data in collaboration with USCB and Clemson Extension Adopt-A-Stream; 75+ volunteers sampling 19 sites across the county

•	State of the Sound Report: a comprehensive report that collects and analyzes historical data about water quality and the health of the Sound; currently being written, will be made available to the public and scientists to inform future research

Conservation
•	Annual Recycled Art Contest: 100+ entrants from schools, families, and amateur and professional artists make art displays with litter or items that would be recycled; art is displayed in the Maritime Center and a jury decides winners in multiple categories 
•	Litter pickups: quarterly clean of highway around the Foundation; volunteers average approximately 100 pounds of trash each time; 1,500 bags of litter kept out of the Sound since 2014

While this list is not exhaustive, it gives you an idea of the breadth and depth of our commitment to the health of the Port Royal Sound and its inhabitants. Being a coastal community comes with a lot of perks, as well as a lot of responsibility. Preserving the healthy water and unique wildlife supported by the Sound goes hand-in-hand with preserving the scenery, seafood, art and recreation in which we take pride and that make our home so special. The Museum of 21st Century Design (M21D) takes a new approach to serving the public. Your support allows us to advance our mission to enhance public appreciation for design that makes positive impact on communities and the environment. 

The museum operates in multiple places, avoiding the costs and burdens of a permanent gallery space. M21D collaborates with host institutions to create engaging programs and in-person exhibitions. We also operate a fellowship program, to coach recent graduates to become curators and authors, while diversifying the cultural sector.
