We are changing the landscape of pediatric cancer research.

When Jacob, the son of Kids v Cancer Founder Nancy Goodman, was diagnosed with cancer at age 8, the only drugs available to treat him were 50 years old. They did not work. Jacob died when he was 10.

After Jacob died, Nancy formed Kids v Cancer to ensure that new drugs are developed for children with cancer.

We are a focused and results-oriented nonprofit and we are changing the landscape of pediatric cancer. We have been featured in stories on NBC, CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post. We have received many awards for our work including Fast Company Top Ten Most Innovative Nonprofits.

Here is what we are most proud of:

  1. We championed a bill to create a $100M incentive for companies to develop drugs expressly for children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Congress first passed the rare pediatric cancer voucher program in 2012.

  2. We championed a bill to require all novel cancer drugs to be studied in children's cancers. Congress passed The RACE for Children Act in 2017.

  3. We are now asking Congress to pass The Give Kids a Chance Act to require that all new combinations of cancer drugs be studied in children's cancers.

  4. We created a post-mortem brain tumor tissue donation program so that families who lost kids to cancer can donate their children's brain cancers to research.

  5. We successfully worked with the FDA to address the problem that adult cancer trials usually exclude children and teens from participation solely based on their age and not based on a medical rationale.

  6. We created a compassionate use program to support physicians and families who seek to treat a child with cancer with a novel cancer therapy that has not yet been approved for children.

Come work with us to change the landscape of pediatric cancer.
