ECUADOR suffers from a security crisis that has worsened significantly in the last three years. This violent situation has a particularly negative impact on young people, who are the most vulnerable to joining organized armed gangs.

The evidence points to a causal relationship between income and crime and violence.
In particular, additional income directed at low-income segments of the population has been shown to lead to considerable reductions in:

● Criminal activity, the benefits of which are largely concentrated among young men.
● The number of arrests of teenage boys, including arrests related to violent crimes.

Flavors with Purpose offers a situation to this situation supporting young people in vulnerable situations in Ecuador so that they can generate gastronomic ventures with a connection to the market.

This project offers and alternative to violence and provides a legal and productive income source to young people, as well as promotes social inclusion, and contributes to local economic development.
