Purchasing a Van for DOVE Children's Home in India

We have our DOVE Children's Home having 120 girl children in the age group of 6 to 17 studying in classes 1st standard to 12th standard. Development Of Village Education (DOVE) which is a non profit organization in Tamil Nadu in India is running this Home for the past 24 years. Girl children from poor background in marginalized communities are taken care of. We are helping them complete their school years till they achieve their degree from colleges. The Home runs on donation from kind donors. There has been no solid support but working on donation from donors from different quarters.

Development Of Village Education (DOVE) was started in the year 2000 and registered under Society's Act. Further it is registered with Home Ministry of India under FCRA which makes it eligible to receive donation from abroad for development activities. A Seven member Board is running after the administration.

A Van is needed to take the children to school which is 2 Kilometers away:

The Project area is typically rural one and DOVE Home is situated in a village. The school where the children are studying is in another place which is 2 Kilometer away. All the children use to go to the school by walk. They encounter much difficulties while walking to the school. Their studies suffer as they are exhausted. Sometimes they tend to attend classes behind regular hours. Since they are girl children it is extremely difficult for them to cover the 4 Kilometers up and down on a daily basis by walk. The Home is run on kind donations but there is shortage of funds to arrange a van for the children to go to the school comfortably. We would request the generous supporters to come forward to help us purchase a van on our own to take the children to school.

The total cost of purchasing a brand new Van (Force - Tempo Traveler) comes to 21584 USD
