Cape Kids Foundation

Cape Kids Foundation ensures greater success and emotional well-being for under-served young people in Cape Town, South Africa by providing a wrap-around program that includes social mentorship, emotional support, and best-fit learning. Our wrap-around program includes emotional support, social mentorship, and best-fit education. We work in partnership with each student as they work towards long-term financial stability and emotional well-being. We typically begin our learning program when the student is 14 years old. The accepted students will start the1 year Alex School Foundation Programme and then progress to the 3 year Alex School Supported Online Learning Programme. Over the past 4 years, we have built a team of 15 full-time and 2 retained staff members who support our high school students and our tertiary students as mentors, counselors, tutors, life advisors, transport managers, nutrition providers, health care coordinators, or dorm parents. Cape Kids Foundation is a trauma-aware organization - all the CKF staff have been trained on the effects that trauma has on the lives of young people as the physical and emotional safety of each student is paramount.
