I grew up in Eastern North Carolina & I have a lot of family members there. So many people are struggling. 

Seeing yourself represented in your reading material (and other forms of entertainment) is so important. Books can change a person's life.

No one’s life or livelihood should ever be at risk because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, sadly this is not the reality for most LGBTQ people around the world. While we fight for this to change, RR rescues LGBTQ people in places where they are at danger and get them to safety. This non-profit has a special place in my heart.

Eve’s Fund is a small non-profit organization with a big mission: to promote hope and wellness for young Native Americans living on the Navajo Nation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

We accomplish this mission through our injury prevention, literacy, and educational scholarship programs. We also provide funding to local organizations and programs that share our vision.

Eve’s parents, Dr. Bob Crowell and Barbara Crowell Roy, started Eve’s Fund for Native American Health Initiatives in 2005 as a way to honor the memory of their daughter, Eve Erin Crowell. Since that time, we have developed a strong community presence and our programs have had a positive impact on over 63,000 Navajo children and teens.

Eve’s Fund is a 501 (c)(3) organization incorporated in New Mexico. Our team includes health educators, VIP speakers, consulting partners, volunteers, and a Board of Directors. Barbara Crowell Roy, Eve’s mother, oversees all programs and daily operations.

Fight mass incarceration by paying bail for Americans and offering needed support. We believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements for decarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income Americans, all while collecting stories and data that prove money bail is not necessary to ensure people return to court. We won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.

Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps at-risk LGBTQI+ people get to safety worldwide. Based in the United States and Canada, we’re an organization that helps LGBTQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.
