Florida is in a precarious environmental position as more people move here and elected authorities dismiss growth management as unnecessary. The dominant perspective is regrettably short-term and profit-driven. I am thankful for 1000 Friends of Florida's work to assist state and local environmental policy in a better direction. We must value the needs of future generations, not just our own. It is a rare perspective, but one worth fighting for.
