Momus

Momus is an independent platform for art writing and criticism. Our headquarters are in Montreal with staff, contributors, and collaborators based internationally. Our activities encompass publishing, Momus: The Podcast, and programs including Residencies, Fellowships, Talks, and events. We center a multivocal approach to art and writing. We privilege historically decentralized perspectives.

Momus works with the conviction that a better infrastructure for supporting and elevating art writers is one we need to make for ourselves. We have developed valued partnerships with other industry leaders, collaborating to build an ecosystem for art discourse that is responsive and flourishing.

Since launching in 2014, Momus has published more than one thousand texts, authored by both emerging and celebrated writers. Momus prioritizes paying writers and editors promptly and well.

As an independent platform, Momus relies on our community to grow sustainably. ** Our work is funded through a combination of foundation support, advertising, project grants, and individual donations. Every contribution directly supports our editors, writers, and small team.
