As humans we know we should eat more fresh and less ultra-processed food. Research has demonstrated the link of processed foods to most health issues ranging from allergies and gastrointestinal problems through to neurological disorders, cancers, and many more. Why, even when speaking to vets and breeders, are we not informed to avoid ultra-processed food for our pets? Well, with your help, we can together we can make a difference!
Your donation – big or small – can help us to further our research findings for the benefit of dogs around the world. It is imperative that a group like ours can work independently, so that we are free to publish all results regardless of other interests.
At DogRisk we are an independent research group at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and are world leaders on questions relating to pet nutrition. Our diverse group of experts, which includes veterinarians, animal nutritionists, biologists, chemists, geneticists, etc., can see all aspects of your pet’s nutrition and how it relates to disease and health issues.
Our research group uses a variety of research methods and projects to push the boundaries of our global understanding of dog diet and disease ranging from questionnaires to clinical diet intervention studies and genetics.
All our funding comes from individuals and small independent companies. Please consider donating to our research and help us to spread this message to your friends and throughout social media. Together we can improve the life and health span of all dogs. With your help, we can do this! ❤️
