CANCER... In LIVING COLOR!

Let’s talk about the COLOR of cancer….

No, not the multitude of colorful ribbons that acknowledge a particular disease. I am talking about the melanated magic of the unseen BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) cancer community.

I want to introduce you to: UNITED COLORS OF CANCER (UCC); the first US nonprofit whose mission is to increase the survivorship rates of the BIPOC cancer community.

“I walked into my first support group and no one looked like me. Representation matters; it matters everywhere, including with cancer. During my cancer journey, I faced the inability to find wigs or skin care items that matched my melanin or texture. I also didn’t see people that looked like me in support groups or even pictured as a survivor. So, the question popped in my mind, “does that mean I am not going to survive?” Facing cancer without representation makes fighting cancer that much harder.”

UCC is creating safe spaces for Black and Brown faces to be authentic, vulnerable, and empowered throughout their cancer journey! We need your help to launch programs and educational resources that will improve the survivorship of the BIPOC cancer community.

Will you consider becoming a monthly donor?

With your monthly contribution, we can create a beautiful community specifically for those underrepresented.

Join the UCC TRIBE by donating $10, $25, or $50 a month.

• $10 a month helps supports "music therapy” playlist downloads.

• $25 a month provides a survivor with a self love/pamper kit for “Self-love Saturdays”

• $50 a month helps provide a passion project scholarship to one cancer survivor.

Your support offers a safe space to Black and Brown cancer survivors.

Your support empowers the BIPOC cancer community.

Your support increases BIPOC cancer survivorship.

AND, your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent of IRS rules & regulations, as we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Cancer is a real threat to the BIPOC community. UCC strives to make sure everyone benefits from the resources they need to thrive while facing a cancer diagnosis. Help us make that happen, today!
