Urgent call to Support Curators to Impact Flying Carpet Children Festival

Join us in supporting Alumni to be part of a unique Festival Visit at Flying Carpet Festival, in southeast Turkey.

The Festival Visits aim to empower the community of Alumni of The Festival Academy, to use their festivals as catalysts for social change while studying the transformative power of festivals in caring for and revitalizing communities.

This Festival Visit invites an international cohort of curators to experience the magic of Flying Carpet Children Festival, a mobile festival for refugee children that takes place at the Turkish-Syrian border. The festival is run by a volunteer-based collective of world-class artists and visionaries who believe in the power of festivals as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of children in war-afflicted regions.

Participants will be part of an immersive experience, engaging directly with artists, team, and the local community of the festival, studying the unique concept of the festival in depth, and gaining firsthand insights into the power of festivals in challenging contexts.

Your support will enable Alumni to create international visibility for the festival, build meaningful collaborations with artists from the region, and promote a deeper understanding of the role festivals play in fragile communities.

We are urgently looking for additional funding to cover the on-site costs of the Festival Visit (such as meals, accommodation and transportation) for participating Alumni.
