Majses (Yiddish for “stories”): Our Polish Jewish Stories is an innovative family education program based on the Taube Center’s pedagogy of object-based learning and the educational methodologies developed and tested since 2012. The goal is to imbue Jewish ritual objects with the seed of a family majse, thereby inspiring families to create memories and traditions embedded in Jewish heritage. ]Majses is geared toward families with children between the ages of 8-12, who are still formulating their Jewish identities and are in the process of enriching their Jewish lives. The goal is to engage family units in Warsaw that seek to gain knowledge and experiences and assist them in creating their family majses.

One of the program’s objectives is to create a space for families to learn

together and from one another as they deepen their knowledge and are encouraged to integrate more Jewish practices into their homes. There will be two cohorts of families, one in the fall and one in the spring, enabling participants to build on their shared experiences and knowledge and strengthen their home-based traditions. Majses is a stand-alone program constructed to complement existing programs offered by other Jewish institutions in Warsaw.

The Taube Center is committed to strengthening the bonds between Jews and Jewish communities worldwide.
