Background
Mentoring and Empowerment Program for Young Women (MEMPROW) is a frontline champion for gender equality and empowering young women through mentorship programs in Uganda. MEMPROW facilitates girls and young women to identify and excel in their potential including sports. We provide them with the resources they need to thrive and continuously engage with different heads of sports federations to eliminate negative patriarchal norms and violence that stigmatize and discriminate against women and girls in sports.

The Challenge: Lack of Sports Gear:
Despite the passion and dedication of girls and young women participating in netball, football, and rugby teams in schools, they face a common obstacle - inadequate sports gear. Many schools struggle to provide the necessary equipment, hindering the full potential of these young athletes.
This campaign aims to bridge this gap and ensure every girl has access to quality sports gear, and safe and inclusive sports participation.

Project Objectives

1. To provide quality netballs, bibs, and training equipment to enhance the netball experience for girls.
2. To supply footballs, and uniforms to schools, ensuring girls can play and compete confidently.
3. To Increase participation in safe and inclusive sports for girls in schools through intergenerational dialogue on safeguarding in sports.
