In July/August 2024, brave students and others in Bangladesh protested for human rights and freedom from autocracy and won a great victory for their country and for the world. But around 1,500 were killed by the police and armed sympathsizers of the now ousted regime, and more than 20,000 were injured. Now a private foundation established by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is seeking to compensate the families of those killed and those who were injured, many of whom are facing significant medical bills. I met some of these victims in Bangladesh recently. Their stories are heart-breaking. I have donated $1,000 and I hope my friends will donate at least $10,000. Donations are tax deductible in the U.S. and will soon be in many other countries as well.

The July Revolution marked a pivotal moment in Bangladesh's history, with lives sacrificed for freedom and justice. Today, the families of martyrs and the injured continue to endure immense pain and suffering. The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation (July Martyrs Memorial Foundation) has been set up to support the injured and the families of those who were killed during the July revolution. With thousands injured and hundreds of lives lost, the foundation will focus on raising funds to provide immediate health care support to injured people, offer short-term financial support to victims' families, preserve the memory of those who sacrificed their lives, and implement projects that will ensure long-term impact.Guided by integrity, compassion, and responsibility, we are committed to ensuring that the sacrifices made during the July revolution are never forgotten, and that the affected families receive the care and support they deserve.

Muhammed Yunus has inspired me for years.  I was honored to meet him.  And setting up this organization to help the people who led the fight for freedom in Bangladesh is right up his alley.  I'm thrilled to donate!

Dr. Yunus has been a hero of mine since I first met him at a results.org conference. I am donating  to support him and to help those who suffered to re-establish  democracy in Bangladesh. 

These people sacrificed their life to get rid of Indian Puppet Govt of Sheikh Hayena, help their family members NOW!!!

As are the student leaders, I am inspired by Muhamad Yunus's contribution to Bangladesh and to the world.
