Hong Kong Watch defends human rights, freedoms and the rule of law in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Watch is a [UK registered charity](https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-details/?regid=1180013&subid=0) founded in 2017, consisting of Hong Kongers and friends of Hong Kong, working closely with Hong Kong community groups in the diaspora.

We inform and educate legislators, policy-makers and the media, and raise awareness among the wider public, about the violations of human rights, basic freedoms and the rule of law in Hong Kong, and advocate for actions to assist Hong Kongers. We do this through a combination of in-depth research reports, regular topical briefings, opinion editorials, media briefings and interviews, and advocacy campaigns.

We also help integrate, support, welcome and strengthen the capacity of the Hong Kong diaspora, through a programme of civic and political education and community engagement.

**Support us to amplify Hong Kongers’ voices in the US**

Hong Kong Watch is launching a campaign to raise **US$50K** to expand our presence and influence in the US.

**Our future plans**

With your generous support, we would be able to:

- Engage with the US Congress, State Department, National Security Council and White House to ensure that Hong Kongers’ voices are heard and considered in policy-making processes.
- Recognise the needs and concerns of Hong Kongers and establish strong connections with the Hong Kong community in the US through regular consultation meetings and community events.
- Develop our research and advocacy campaigns, including transnational repression, Hong Kong’s special privileges and the release of political prisoners in Hong Kong.

**By donating to us, you could help us make a difference:**

- **$20/month** could support us to**** arrange meetings with Members of Congress and officials from the White House in Washington, DC. *We raise important issues affecting Hong Kong and push for large-scale, impactful policy changes in the US.*
- **$100/month** could support us to host events in Washington, DC. *Our events connect Members of Congress, diplomats, civil society representatives, journalists and Hong Kongers to highlight pressing issues for the Hong Kong community and to push for policy changes that will improve the lives of Hong Kongers in the US.*
- **$500/month** could support us to organise report launches in our regions of operation.**** *Report launches serve as a focal point for raising awareness of our in-depth research, bringing together elected representatives, civil society experts, journalists, and Hong Kongers to push for policy changes across all our regions of operation.*
- **$1,000/month** could support us to expand our US team. *Dedicated members of staff based in Washington, DC are instrumental in enhancing our influence across the US and consolidating our connections with key stakeholders, including politicians, think tank members, civil society representatives and Hong Kongers.*

- **Advance critical legislation** – Partnered with the US Congress to pass key bills, including the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, PROTECT Hong Kong Act and Hong Kong Autonomy Act.
- **Shape policy through expertise** – Provided expert testimonies in Congress, amplifying Hong Kongers’ voices at the highest levels.
- **Secure lifelines for Hong Kongers** – Successfully advocated for the UK BNO visa scheme and its expansion for young Hong Kongers.
- **Expand safe immigration pathways** – Championed Canada’s lifeboat scheme (Hong Kong Pathway) and the expansion of Stream B for permanent residency.
- **Demonstrate strategic impact** – Our work proves the power of targeted advocacy, ensuring every contribution leads to measurable change.
