As a nation, we have fallen in love with the sport of Rugby, thanks to the tenacious women and men who represented our country in the 2024 Olympic Games! Now is the time to show them how much you care!
C.A.R.E (Career Advancement Rugby Enhancement) is a dedicated program of the Golden Eagles Association that helps address hardships faced by players due to their commitment to the great sport of Rugby. Professional rugby careers are low-paying and short-lived. CARE provides access to career, financial, and life-skills training so all players can achieve success beyond the rugby pitch, when they decide to retire their jerseys.
Alex (Spiff) Sedrick, says of CARE "the players are so grateful for the support, we depend on CARE to to explore career opportunities without the added burden of financial stress".
Perry Baker has used his support from CARE to give back to the rugby community. For the past 5 years, Perry has been running Youth Rugby Camps across Southern CA, introducing rugby to hundreds of young girls and boys. He is keeping the game alive, while finding meaning in mentoring youth through sports and social/emotional development.
Perry says of his involvement with CARE, "CARE has been essential in shaping my journey as an athlete and person. Through every challenge, it’s been a source of support, motivation, and growth. This program has helped me by providing a strong foundation of support and resources, which has impacted my athletic career and, more importantly, my transition into retirement."
Donate today to provide essential support to our hometown heroes! Your contributions will help these incredible athletes continue to shine in their personal and professional lives, and allow them to forge meaningful career paths in preparation for when they hang up their cleats!
