Eco-village: a living arrangement that holistically ties ecology to the well-being of society. REDES aims to create a network of eco-villages that preserve African culture while also modernizing and improving standards of communal living.

We connect and support communities for regenerating local ecosystems and societies worldwide. We need help to continue our work!

Global Ecovillage Network connects communities and facilitates spreading of ecovillage-based approaches for environmental and social restoration, locally worldwide and globally. We link existing initiatives for mutual support and sharing best practices; we support new ecovillages and provide education and capacity building; we engage in post-disaster regions for community-led rebuilding and work with local and regional authorities; we foster fundamental behaviour shifts in community for systemic change.
GEN International connects 6000 grass-root communities in 114 countries, as well as builds connections with NGOs, academia and  policy-makers to facilitate the global transition to a peaceful and resilient future for all.
