The East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) was established in 1998, in response to an appeal for help from the 19 impoverished communities of Ban Village, located on the steep and arid slopes of Mounts Agung and Abang in East Bali, where malnutrition, illiteracy, and lack of healthcare access were everyday struggles. From the outset, the community faced severe deficiencies, especially in basic necessities like clean water and proper sanitation, which compounded the challenges of daily life. Today, EBPP runs six schools, offering free education and health services to over 220 children who otherwise have no access to schooling. However, one of our schools - Manikaji - urgently need funding to continue supporting 91 students. Your support will help keep these schools open, giving children a chance to break the cycle of poverty through education.
Education at EBPP is about equipping students with essential life skills, from computer/financial literacy to health/hygiene/sanitation awareness and sustainable organic farming. These schools are more than classrooms; they are safe spaces that nurture dreams and inspire a brighter future for the whole community. Your contribution today ensures that these students continue to receive quality education, unlocking their potential to transform their lives and their village for a better future of sustainable social and economic development.
The direct beneficiaries of your support are the children of Ban Village, many of whom are the first in their families to receive an education. By empowering these students with both academic knowledge and practical life skills, we are also uplifting their families and future generations, creating lasting change in one of the most underdeveloped regions in Bali.
