CRY works to ensure happier childhoods for India's children and has impacted 4M+ children in the last 4 decades.

Established in 1979 as Child Relief and You, now Child Rights and You, CRY was started by Rippan Kapur who dreamt of ensuring happier childhoods for India’s children. In just over 4 decades, CRY has been able to create a positive impact on the lives of over 4 million children in the age group of 0-18 years, with having presence in 19 states.

 Working with some of the most marginalized and vulnerable children, within their communities and their family structures - CRY aims to address the root causes of why children are kept away from their basic rights and to find solutions that are sustainable.

 The broad areas of CRY's work include:

1. **Health and Nutrition** - CRY works to ensure that children get access to proper healthcare and facilities.

2. **Education** - The project team not only works with children and their families to help them understand the crucial role education plays in breaking out of the circle of poverty but also works to activate schools and strengthen existing ones.

3. **Protection** - This is one of the other areas that CRY takes on across its programmatic areas and this work is centered around child labour, child marriage, trafficking, and ensuring children are not exploited and vulnerable.

4. **Participation** - CRY also works towards providing children with a platform where they can voice their concerns and issues and support each other.

At Child Rights and You (CRY), we work tirelessly to bridge this gap, empowering children with the support they need to reach their full potential.

**Our Mission to Make a Difference:**

CRY partners with grassroots organizations across India to tackle the most urgent issues facing children, transforming lives and creating sustainable, lasting change. We currently operate 102 projects in 20 states, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Chennai. Through our focused initiatives, we make a measurable impact in the lives of children.

**Our Key Initiatives:**

- **Education:** CRY works to ensure that every child has access to education. We conduct awareness drives to emphasize the importance of schooling and strive to enroll every child in school.
- **Protection:** Child labor and early marriage rob children of their future. By raising awareness and connecting families with MNREGA job opportunities, we help protect children from these harmful practices.
- **Health and Nutrition:** CRY connects children to government healthcare services, ensuring they receive vaccinations and adequate nutrition for healthy development.
- **Child Participation:** We believe in empowering children to be change-makers in their own lives and communities. Through children’s collectives, we help them develop leadership skills, voice their concerns, and actively participate in decisions that affect their future.
