Helene Joffe Documentary Fund
There have been many stories told by Holocaust survivors. There can never be too many. This moving and insightful documentary will tell the story of Helene Joffe a young girl of 8 in 1943 when her father was taken by French police working for the Nazis. She and her siblings went into hiding in the countryside. She survived the war and the murder of millions of European Jews. Now living in South Africa, Helene has spent much of her adulthood talking to young people in both French and English about the hope and resilience that sustained those who survived. But also about the dangers threatened by a resurgence of hatred and intolerance in 2024. Your tax-deductible donation will help complete and promote the film.
