Across the Asia region, women remain underrepresented in leadership positions in the political, economic, and cultural spheres. As of 2023, women in Asia hold only 16% of board seats, 7% of board chair positions and only 5% of CEO positions across the entire region. Moreover, in recent years we have witnessed an overall drop or a flatlining in the number of women in top political positions across Asian countries, both in local governments and national parliaments.

When women are not representing themselves politically and economically, they, their families, their communities and countries lose out on their enormous potential as contributing members of society, as the shapers of the next generations, and as leaders of change.

This year, we are gearing up to jumpstart this much needed change by putting the finishing touches on our curriculum, recruiting and world-class faculty to join us in Georgetown, Penang, and opening our doors to our first cohort of students in Fall 2025.
