Elevate our National Treasure-African American spirituals
- Raised
- $975
- Goal
- $20,000
To increase public awareness & ownership of the rich musical tradition of the African-American spiritual. The orally transmitted tunes and text created by enslaved Africans form the basis of the art work, constituting the uniquely American performance repertoire in the 20th and 21st century.
Arch Angel Productions is looking to foster active engagement through concerts, residences, seminars, in-person and online performances. We do this through our partnerships with schools, universities, churches and art societies.
Our mission is to enhance Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community. This is possible as music allows us to recognize ourselves in the eyes of another as they recognize themselves in ours. This recognition occurs whenever a performer and observer engage in a mutually inclusive experience.
