I think this organization is the most authentic and well run charity to help Afghan women and girls to have a life beyond Afghanistan! 

Future Brilliance, a female-led, volunteer-run organisation, has been hands-on in Afghanistan since 2013, providing digital and technical skills and enterprise development opportunity to marginalised Afghan women and artisans. 

The charity is important to me - because it represents everything I believe in - a path to freedom and building financial and emotional resilience for women who have lost almost everything. 

Since August 2021 the non profit has been working relentlessly to rescue, re-skill and rehabilitate targeted and traumatised Afghan women and their families. 

Among the many women we have rescued is Sharbat Gula - the National Geographic  “green eyed Afghan girl” - icon of refugee suffering. She’s now living safely in Rome with her family thanks to Future Brilliance - which evacuated her with the support of the Italian foreign ministry. 

Future Brilliance has provided safe passage, food, education, accommodation, trauma counselling, psychosocial support, digital literacy and social media marketing training to more than 1500 at-risk Afghans since the Taliban take over.  It has provided families with a laptop and smart phone in order to facilitate learning.  

The charity has secured visas for hundreds of Afghans globally, from Australia to Canada. 

Future Brilliance still has women and children in our care - female journalists like Khalida (pictured) , also a talented artist and flautist, need our support for the next few months while we try to secure safe passage . We plan to give Khalida and others certified skills as English language teachers, in partnership with the University of Cambridge. We will continue to offer them group and one on one trauma counselling. 

Funds are also needed to buy flight tickets to safety for those for whom visas have already been secured. 

100% of the funds raised go to project costs. Future Brilliance is founded and led entirely by volunteers (including me). I’ve put my entire life on hold for the past 2 years for these women. The sight of extremely vulnerable Afghan women who were facing certain death in Afghanistan, being bunched and hugged on arrival in Sydney or Sao Paolo is my reward.  And together, we’ve saved many many lives.
