An organization focused on providing hands-on learning for the overlooked in Mauritania. It received its nonprofit status in 2023.

Barakah Yields is a social impact company whose purpose is to generate opportunities, providing hands-on upskilling programs that will enable our members from overlooked communities to become active agents of the 21st century economy in Mauritania and the Saharan Africa region. 

I started this organization to address a widespread problem that I have witnessed first hand, that is the lack of education opportunities for those at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder. Nearly 57% of the Mauritanian population lives in multidimensional poverty, and this is exacerbated by the lack of education and employment opportunities for the youth. 

Similar to the broader African population, 60% of Mauritania's the population is less than 25 years old, and an outstanding 44% of those aged between 14 and 35 are neither professionally active, enrolled in school nor in vocational training. The situation is much harder for women who make up more than half of the working-age population in the country of approximately five million people.
