We live in an uncertain world.  Extensive research has shown that the best way to eliminate some of the world's most pervasive problems (poverty, violence and war, human rights violations, etc.) is through the active participation of women.
The WHPF's 1000 Women Leaders campaign is empowering women on the ground around the world to dream that they can have an impact in the future of the lives of their communities, their countries, and the world.  As WPHF's Global Advocate Kristen Bell says, 'Women make shit happen."  And they are - from Afghanistan to Yemen, from Haiti to Burundi - women are leading the charge to prevent conflict, respond to crises, and working to create peace in their communities.
