Tina's Birthday Fundraiser for Antiracism Education
For my birthday this year and in honor for Black History Month, I'm asking for people to join me in supporting 540WMain. I've never met a team so dedicated to pursuing justice for all, and I believe their approach is what can truly heal this country and make us better people towards each other and our world. They make their online education approachable and accessible to everyone with pay-what-you-can pricing, and every class is ASL interpreted.
Their antiracism education platform has personally allowed me to learn so much this past year– from Intro to Antiracism, Understanding Cultural Appropriation, to Decolonizing Philanthropy. They invite discourse and openly welcome learners at all levels, while challenging people to think critically and nudging them out of their comfort zones. The safe virtual environment they've created during the pandemic is so welcome (and essential). I'm especially thankful as someone who is still learning about our history and present context, and unlearning so much of the racist and colonialist programming embedded in our culture. I believe this sort of platform and conversation is crucial in our country— to heal our traumas and do better.
Join me so we can help them expand their programming and virtual accessibility! They also work with companies and youth. "Your support can help us tell the full story; it can help us teach about topics that are too often neglected or essentialized in traditional sectors of education. And it can ensure we do so with the diverse accessibility needs of our community at the center of it."
